I was so deep in the story I didn't notice the length of the book until I finished. Absolutely amazing writing. The story grabs you from the start. You need to know what is going to happen next. I admit I couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night to finish it. Definitely a must read....more

Where the White Rabbits are hunted for sport in a nightmare landscape full of murderous creatures. Did I absolutely love this book? Yes I did. I want a book two, that is how much I loved it. The ending is fabulous, but leaves a lot unanswered. Hence, why I am calling for another book!...more

Climbers discover what might be Noah's Ark high up in the mountains. Don't ask me why it is there, it just is. Cue everyone trying to get in on the discovery in the middle of a blizzard. They find something with horns that was entombed in a black box with old writing. All kinds of chaos start breaking out as the demon starts body hopping faster than an escort on a Friday night. Trapped inside by the blizzard with no hopes of rescue, with death around every corner, who will make it out. Outstanding read....more

A book has toFor a hot minute, I thought I was stuck reading a book about fishing. That is no good for someone with the attention span of a squirrel. A book has to grab me fast to make me hang in there. So I struggled for a few chapters because it was all about fishing. I mean, it is The Fisherman. Is a giant fish going to jump out of the river and eat people? Zombie fishes? Then the story unfolded and off we went all the way to the end, holding my breath. It makes the question of what would you do if you could get your loved back from the dead? Could you sacrifice your life? Become something not human? Would it be worth it?
Excellent plot (besides the fishing) heart pounding moments. However, not one zombie fish! Highly recommend....more

Kind I am glad one of my Goodreads friends convinced me to pick this one back up. It started as a slow burn and had talking animals for cripe’s sake. Kind of hard to be afraid of a Frog that uses Gordon Ramsey as a mentor. However, once it started, it hit harder than Bing the Bear's war hammer. Who knew fictional real characters could be murderous. It sort of makes you wonder, if you ever did find yourself in the Hundred Acre Woods with Winnie the Pooh, would he try to eat you? Instead of his thirst for that jar of honey, it is full of his last victim's blood. How's that for childhood nightmare fuel. I loved the imagery this book provided. It was beautiful and went well with the heart pounding moments around every corner. Highly recommend....more

South China Sea, the steam frigate HMS Charger pursues a fleet of pirates that have been terrorizing the waters surrounding Hong Kong. In their hull are crates of opium, which are transferred as spoils of war. Suddenly a dark mass appears way above the stars. It looks like a comet, but maybe a dark star. Days later, the crew are experiencing hallucinations and calling them to come to an island for all their dreams to come true. Murders and mutiny on the high sea, with a boatload of horror to keep the pages turning. This was one hell of a good book. Recommend!...more

So needless to say, yes, I cried over these pages. A mother's love is endless. It will go through the depths of hell to provide safety for our children. For even a sliver of hope for it. Pheby did what she had to survive. To make sure her children survived. I can't wrap my mind around on how it would be in her position. I wouldn't disrespect her by pretending too. I have seen this case on Dateline, and I am still shocked on how the police plus the prosecution just ignored the real facts. They all were determined to railroad the husband Russ straight into prison without passing Go or collecting two hundred dollars. I bet to this day they all claim they didn't make any mistakes. Just gross. Excellent information on the case. It had to be hard to collect all of Pam's lies in one place. I hope she enjoys prison. Hopefully she is housed with Bertha, who enjoys slapping her around daily....more

This was a heart pounding crazy ride from start to finish. It kept me guessing up to the reveal what in the hell was the cause of the murderous rampages. I truly did not see it coming. Then to keep trying to figure out what was going with the main character was mind-bending. Was she mentally unbalanced? Effects of the ship? Maybe just an old-fashioned "I see dead people" issue? The writer did an outstanding job in creating a creepy atmosphere and putting you directly into the story. I wish I could erase my memory and read this one again!! Recommend!...more

Fabulous career as an artist, a loving husband, and a beautiful house. The mirage shatters when the police finds Alicia's husband dead with four bullets to the face and Alicia standing nearby in bloody clothes. When asked what happened, Alicia refuses to speak. She is found mental incapacitated and sent to a mental hospital called the Grove.
Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has transferred to the Grove. Theo's main mission is to get Alicia to speak again. He wants her to remember to help heal her. Plunging into her past, Theo finds hidden secrets. An angry brother-in-law, a cousin with huge gambling debts, the best friend who covets her art, and the strange man that has been lurking around her house. Can Theo figure out what really happened the day Alicia's husband died?
You ever read a book, get to the reveal and start screaming running through your house? Yeah, that part. I DID NOT see that coming. I actually paused mid-sentence in shock. Now my cats are traumatized, and my husband thinks I need therapy.

Told through the eyes of Joey Peacock, who has spent the last forty years as a teenage vampire. Sleeping with his clan in the subway tunnels during the days and hitting up the discotheques at night, we follow Joey in his daily life. We partake in his feeding rituals, how he survives, and rules he has to play by to keep his head attached. Until one night on a subway, he sees a group of undead children. They charm a man and make him follow them off the train. Joey is stunned and follows them. Turning children is forbidden. Leaving them alone to their devices without instructions will get you the final death. War is coming, and the blood will flow.
For a vampire book, this rocked. I loved the main character and found myself laughing at his antics. The end simply blew my mind. I was not expecting that. Wow!! Highly recommend!...more
