YA rash of bizarre murders are sweeping the country. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason behind them. Every day, it gets more violent, more bloody. Yesterday, all the power seems to have gone out. The stench of smoke fills the air. Today, Jack Colclough hears his name and address broadcasted on the EBS via the radio. He grabs his wife, kids, and guns, then slides into the car. There is nowhere to hide.....so now you Run.
And run we did. The whole entire book. I needed a nap, I was so exhausted. Pretty good read. It was interesting to think how you would survive in a situation like that. I don't know if I would have the backbone Jack and his wife did.
I didn't go into this with any expectations. I have seen mixed reviews. However, I like to judge a book myself. The first half of the book was great. I didn't go into this with any expectations. I have seen mixed reviews. However, I like to judge a book myself. The first half of the book was great. A creepy house with a murderous atmosphere is my jam. I liked Noemí and her cousin. They were not going to allow themselves to be taken without a fight.
The next part of the book left me feeling like I ate rancid mushrooms then got food poisoning. How many times was she going to tell us how handsome Virgil is? Like girl, stop being so thirsty and then playing hard to get. It felt like it was all over the place. The rules kept changing midstream. I will slap 3 stars on it, moving on to the next....more

The only thing that bumped it up to a 4 star was because of the ending. I did not see that one coming. I think it would have been better to have grownup narrators as well. Maybe one of the nursing staff. Gran herself? I just felt it was missing that little extra that would have made it a real page turner. Overall, it was a good read and I would recommend it....more

Their presence is everywhere. The main facility is known as "The Hive" it is deep underground in Raccoon City. A classified research lab that houses about 500 employees, lab animals, and questionable creatures. Suddenly The Red Queen, state of the art security system, locks The Hive down killing everyone. A team is sent in to find out what happened and to reopen The Hive. Things get ugly real fast as the employees are dead, but not dead, dead. And let's not discuss what is in the employee cafeteria. I love all things Resident Evil. I wish I would have read the books first.

Money, power, fame, chicken nuggets? Whatever your soul desires could be yours... if you can win a race with the devil. Up in the backwoods of Pennsylvania, an abandoned church sits waiting for the next person willing to risk it all for what he wants the most. This was a great horror book to be so short. It sucked me right on in.

I had to get use to the narrative, but after that it was amazing. I had no clue where the plot was going or how it all was going to fit together. Every time I thought I knew who did it, I was so wrong. I love authors who can spin a book so well and keep you guessing. The ending was sad. However, when I really thought about it, it was the only way I would have wanted it to end. Highly recommend!

The characters got on my nerves by doing stupid things. Other than that it was an okay read.
