All that was left was blood smears and splatters. Their bodies are still unaccounted for. Upon arrival, they find all the furniture is bolted down and there are strange gaps in the walls. Not to mention an annoying ticking sound that seems to be speeding up. The family soon learns they are in the middle of a killing machine invented by a psychopathic genius.

It tells you each book except the last one can be a stand-alone book, but for me, I should have started here. Especially since my first view was Slaughterbox, which really didn't go into what is going on. Excellent read. I am loving this series....more

By the time I finished this book, I didn't even know if I was real. One thing is for sure, I am glad none of my old AOL chat room "friends" stalked me down. That would have been very awkward all the way around. The only complaint I had was the confusion on how things were happening that shouldn't be happening. It was like the rules changed mid-plot. Overall, a good read....more

A book has to grab me fast to make me hang in there. So I struggled for a few chapters because it was all about fishing. I mean, it is The Fisherman. Is a giant fish going to jump out of the river and eat people? Zombie fishes? Then the story unfolded and off we went all the way to the end, holding my breath. It makes the question of what would you do if you could get your loved back from the dead? Could you sacrifice your life? Become something not human? Would it be worth it?
Excellent plot (besides the fishing) heart pounding moments. However, not one zombie fish! Highly recommend....more

Georgia Tann has been called the "Mother of Adoption" however she was a child thief and murderer that has caused generational tragedy. In this book, we follow Rill and her siblings as they are ripped from their parents by fraud, suffered abuse in a children's home before being adopted. It is a heartbreaking story. I read the nonfiction account of Tann, her crimes, and the fallout the victims feel to this day. Babies were left outside in the blazing sun for hours in order to get rid of them. I hope there is a basement in hell and Tann is there. Excellent read. ...more

Kind I am glad one of my Goodreads friends convinced me to pick this one back up. It started as a slow burn and had talking animals for cripe’s sake. Kind of hard to be afraid of a Frog that uses Gordon Ramsey as a mentor. However, once it started, it hit harder than Bing the Bear's war hammer. Who knew fictional real characters could be murderous. It sort of makes you wonder, if you ever did find yourself in the Hundred Acre Woods with Winnie the Pooh, would he try to eat you? Instead of his thirst for that jar of honey, it is full of his last victim's blood. How's that for childhood nightmare fuel. I loved the imagery this book provided. It was beautiful and went well with the heart pounding moments around every corner. Highly recommend....more
