He sees a house for rent in the middle of nowhere and decides to move his family in. The house was the scene of a gruesome disappearance of a family 75 years ago. All that was left was blood smears and splatters. Their bodies are still unaccounted for. Upon arrival, they find all the furniture is bolted down and there are strange gaps in the walls. Not to mention an annoying ticking sound that seems to be speeding up. The family soon learns they are in the middle of a killing machine invented by a psychopathic genius.

By the time I finished this book, I didn't even know if I was real. One thing is for sure, I am glad none of my old AOL chat room "friends" stalked me down. That would have been very awkward all the way around. The only complaint I had was the confusion on how things were happening that shouldn't be happening. It was like the rules changed mid-plot. Overall, a good read....more

A book has to grab me fast to make me hang in there. So I struggled for a few chapters because it was all about fishing. I mean, it is The Fisherman. Is a giant fish going to jump out of the river and eat people? Zombie fishes? Then the story unfolded and off we went all the way to the end, holding my breath. It makes the question of what would you do if you could get your loved back from the dead? Could you sacrifice your life? Become something not human? Would it be worth it?
Excellent plot (besides the fishing) heart pounding moments. However, not one zombie fish! Highly recommend....more

I will admit, Pike messed with my head when the first twists started being thrown at me. I thought I was misreading what was happening, or maybe I should not drink wine before reading anymore. This is a unique horror read. I enjoyed it immensely!...more

Kind I am glad one of my Goodreads friends convinced me to pick this one back up. It started as a slow burn and had talking animals for cripe’s sake. Kind of hard to be afraid of a Frog that uses Gordon Ramsey as a mentor. However, once it started, it hit harder than Bing the Bear's war hammer. Who knew fictional real characters could be murderous. It sort of makes you wonder, if you ever did find yourself in the Hundred Acre Woods with Winnie the Pooh, would he try to eat you? Instead of his thirst for that jar of honey, it is full of his last victim's blood. How's that for childhood nightmare fuel. I loved the imagery this book provided. It was beautiful and went well with the heart pounding moments around every corner. Highly recommend....more

Rabbits is a secret underground game. You probably never heard of it except in whispers or on the dark web. No one knows who runs the game. In fact, you don't even know you're a player. All you have to do is see or hear the phrase "The Door is Open" to know a new game has begun. If you can find the patterns, uncover the clues, and can open your mind, the game might pick you. Dangers are everywhere. You might lose your life. However, the winner gets his/her heart's desire.
The last two games, something has been amiss. Now entering the 11th round since its conception, players are going missing. Bodies are being found murdered. The lines of reality are being blurred. K has to win the game before our world comes to an end. Or maybe it all is a figment of K's imagination.

Days later, the crew are experiencing hallucinations and calling them to come to an island for all their dreams to come true. Murders and mutiny on the high sea, with a boatload of horror to keep the pages turning. This was one hell of a good book. Recommend!...more
