I really enjoyed this book! I went into this book without knowing what to expect but I am so glad that I decided to take a chance on it. I believe this is one of those stories that is best to go into as blindly as possible, so I will avoid anything that could be considered a spoiler in this review. The twists and turns of the story were fun because they came as a complete surprise and I don’t think that the book would have had the same impact if I had some ideas about what I could expect. I found this book to be an incredibly entertaining read.
I liked John Reiff from the very start of this story. It was immediately apparent that there was more to this man than we saw on the surface. As we met other characters, I was never quite sure who should be trusted. A lot of things are not as they seem to be initially in this story and I had a great time just trying to figure out what the next twist might be. There was enough action worked into the story to keep things very interesting.
I listened to the audiobook and thought that Scott Brick did an amazing job with this story. I have enjoyed this narrator’s work in the past and thought that he did an exceptional job with this story. He did a great job of differentiating the various characters in this story with the voices that he used. I found his voice to be very pleasant and I found myself wanting to listen to this book for hours at a time. I am certain that his narration added a lot to my overall enjoyment of this story.
I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well-done story that crossed over into several genres. I was excited to learn that this is the first book of a planned series and cannot wait to read more of the series.

This was fantastic! I am a huge fan of Kelley Armstrong’s writing and the characters featured in the Rockton/Haven’s Rock series hold a special place in my heart. I know this is listed as the second book in the Haven’s Rock series, but that series is just a continuation of the Rockton series, so I would recommend starting there and reading the books in order if possible. You could probably get away with jumping right into this book but the whole series is great so you don’t want to miss it.
I was quickly pulled into this newest mystery and couldn’t wait to see how Eric and Casey would get to the bottom of things. A boy disappears from the hidden town of Haven’s Rock after claiming to have seen a bear in the woods. I love that this series always seems to keep me guessing and this book was no exception. It turned out that bears were not the scariest things in the wilderness surrounding the small town that Eric and Casey. There are some developments in this story for Eric and Casey that should play an important role in future installments that I am pretty excited about.
I usually read this series with my eyes but this time I listened to the audiobook and thought Therese Plummer did an excellent job with this story. This narrator has been one of my favorites for a very long time and this performance was up to her usual high standards. I felt like I was right there with Casey and Eric trying to find this boy in the woods. The voices that she used for the characters really brought the story to life and I thought that she added just the right amount of emotion to her reading. I am certain that her performance added to my overall enjoyment of this story.
I would highly recommend this series to others. I have found this series to be very smartly written with characters that feel like friends. Kelley Armstrong has earned a spot on my favorites shelf and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

I had such a good time with this book! I was drawn into this book almost immediately. The more that I read the more hooked I was until I reached the point that putting this book down was no longer an option. There were some pretty big twists and a few of those twists left me questioning everything that I thought I knew. I just couldn’t wait to see how all the pieces fit together!
The story opens with a teenage Wilder heading to his late uncle’s cottage on the Maine coast with his parents. He soon meets Harper and Nate who become his summer companions in the same town where a serial killer known as The Dagger Man has been active for years. After the ordeal of that summer, Wilder goes to college where he meets Sky and they become close until Sky steals Wilder’s unpublished memoir. Just when I thought I know what was going on, things would shift and I found myself to figure out what might happen next.
I listened to the audiobook and thought that Christopher Ragland and Katherine Fenton did a wonderful job with the narration. I thought that their voices worked very well together in this audiobook. I thought both narrators had very pleasant voices and I had no problem listening for hours at a time. I felt like they were able to expertly bring these characters to life and I am certain that their narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. I found this to be a wonderful thriller that kept me hooked until the very end. This is the fourth book written by Catriona Ward that I have had a chance to read and I have enjoyed each of them immensely. I cannot wait to read more of her work!

I had a great time with this book! This is the first book by Ashley Winstead that I have read but it will not be the last. I was hooked by this story from the very start. Ruth and Ever had a lot to hide and I couldn’t wait to learn all of their secrets. The mystery kept me guessing until the very end. I found this to be an incredibly entertaining novel.
Ruth and Ever were great characters who faced terrible, but very different, situations in their home life. Ruth is the daughter of the most powerful man in the town, Pastor James Cormier. Everett is the son of the town drunk. Their lives intersect during a tragic moment and they become best friends. I liked Ruth and Ever even though they were incredibly flawed characters. I was pulled into the story right away and loved the fact that there were a few unexpected turns. I could have never guessed the direction that the story would go.
I switched to the audiobook when I was about halfway done with the story and thought that Sarah Welborn did a great job of bringing the story to life. I believe this was the first time I have had the chance to listen to this narrator’s work and I was impressed. I found her voice to be very pleasant and I had no problem listening to this book for hours at a time. I am certain that her narration only added to my overall enjoyment of this story.

This was really good! I have enjoyed this author’s books in the past so I was excited to get the chance to read her newest novel. Once I started reading, I did not want to stop reading because I just had to know what would happen next. There were plenty of twists and turns worked into the story that kept me guessing until the very end. I found this to be an entertaining story that was full of surprises.
Greer’s sister was murdered alongside her boyfriend years ago. She left town as an adult but has come back after another double murder is committed. The man who murdered Greer’s sister, Eliza, has been put to death but Greer feels like there is something more going on with the new murders and starts looking into things. I liked Greer but I wasn’t completely sure that I trusted her. I really liked that I never knew exactly which direction the story was going at any given time.
I listened to the audiobook and thought that Sean Patrick Hopkins, Amanda Stribling, and Jennifer Pickens did a wonderful job with this story. I thought that the narrators’ voices all worked really well together and I loved the way that each of them helped to bring the story to life. I thought that each of the narrators had very pleasant voices and I believe that their narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story.
I would recommend this book to others. I love that this story was rather unpredictable and kept me guessing until the very end. I cannot wait to read more of this author’s work.

I had a great time with this book! I haven’t read too many books in David Baldacci’s impressive backlist but I have enjoyed the ones that I have picked up, so I was thrilled to get the chance to dive into his newest book that kicks off the new Mickey Gibson series. I liked the characters right away and was quickly absorbed by the mystery. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a try.
Mickey Gibson is a former detective turned private investigator and single mother of two small children. Let’s just say that she has her hands very full juggling the demands of her children with that of her job. She is lucky enough to be able to work remotely from her home but when she gets a call to check something out in person, she agrees. She finds a body belonging to a man that had been a part of the witness protection program. Mickey is soon pulled into a case that might be bigger than she could have ever imagined.
Mickey was an incredibly authentic character. I liked the fact that motherhood was not glamorized in this book but it was obvious how much Mickey loved her kids. She was a smart and intuitive investigator who refused to give up. I felt like there were just the right amount of twists and turns to keep things very interesting and I couldn’t wait to see how things would work out in the end.
I thought that the narrators did a great job with this audiobook. Lisa Flanagan handled the bulk of the narration with Corey Carthew covering all of the male dialogue. I thought that they both had a wonderful range and I loved the voices that they used that helped to bring this cast of characters to life. Their voices complimented each other nicely and I thought that their performance added to my overall enjoyment.
I would recommend this book to others. I was hooked by this story immediately and found it hard to put down. I am excited by the fact that this is the first book in a new series and cannot wait to go on further adventures with Mickey Gibson.

I thought that this was a very entertaining story. Piper has recently moved in with her father, stepmother, and half-siblings. She feels out of place and starting a new school in her senior year is less than ideal. She decides to start a podcast investigating the death of another student 17 years earlier as her senior project. She is paired with another student, Jonas, who runs his own podcast and will serve as her mentor. I loved the way that Piper dived into this project headfirst and couldn’t wait to learn what really happened to Layla Trello.
Layla Trello went missing after a party and her body was found in a secluded area 2 weeks later. Some people think her boyfriend or his brother was involved but the case remains unsolved. Piper starts interviewing people immediately, and I was surprised by some of the things she discovered. Piper has her own issues to deal with and I feel like she grew a lot over the course of the story. Jonas was also a great character and I thought his story added a lot to the story as well.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to others. The pacing of the book was very well done and I felt like the short chapters helped to make this feel like a very speedy read. I hope to read more of April Henry’s work again very soon in the future.

This was fantastic! The story opened in spectacular fashion hooking me right away and the intensity never let up. The story was very exciting and the mystery kept me guessing until the very end. Once I started this book, I did not want to put it down. I am so glad that I took a chance and gave this entertaining book a try.
This story is told from two very different points of view. Julia is a college professor who is getting her daughter, Cora, moved onto campus as the story opens. They are joined by Julia’s ex-husband and Cora’s father and his new wife. When someone starts shooting into the crowd of students and parents, Julia’s quick action most likely saves her daughter’s life. Ren is a trained assassin. She operates under a strict set of rules making sure those she kills are not the innocent. She’s not so sure that her husband is still following that set of rules. Both women are determined to figure out what really happened that day.
Megan Tusig does an amazing job with the narration of this book. It was always really clear which point of view she was reading and I thought that she was able to add just the right amount of emotion and excitement to her reading. I loved how she was able to bring this story to life which only added to my overall enjoyment of the book.

This was exciting! I was hoping that this would be an action-filled story and I was not disappointed. Derek was a great character. He is flawed but he wants to do what is right and cares deeply about his family. He’s the guy that you want in your corner when things take a turn for the worse. This retired Marine finds himself dealing with a group and he is unsure of their motives. He turns to his friend at the FBI and goes undercover to find out what is really going on. He thinks that he has everything under control but it may be more dangerous than he first believes.
This book had all of the action that I had hoped it would. I loved the fact that there were some pretty big surprises worked into the story that made it hard to put down. I loved just how capable Derek proved to be even when he found himself in situations that appeared to be impossible. Derek was a great character and I really wanted to see things work out for him.
I listened to the audiobook and thought that Jay Snyder did a fabulous job with the story. I believe that this is the first time that I have had a chance to listen to this narrator’s work and I was impressed. He did a great job of bringing this action-packed story to life. I found his voice to be very pleasant and was able to listen to this book for hours at a time.

I am a fan of Kelley Armstrong’s work so I was eager to dive into her newest YA novel. I found this book to be fast-paced and entertaining. I was able to guess some of the twists but there were others that kept me guessing until the very end which was great since I am always looking for a book that can keep me guessing. I liked Blythe and the rest of the characters and thought that they dealt with an impossible situation very well. The story was probably completely unrealistic but fun to read.
Blythe’s friend Gabrielle has a couple of breakdowns at school which has everyone wondering what is really happening. I enjoyed watching the pieces slowly fall into place as we learn the events that lead up to this event. Blythe, Tucker, Tanya, and Gabrielle have always been friends but after an incident, there is some attention between Tucker and Blythe. I couldn’t wait to see how things would work out.

This was incredibly exciting right from the start! I have been a huge fan of Harlan Coben’s work for a very long time. I was really eager to read this book and went into the book with incredibly high expectations. I am happy to report that those expectations were all met. This was the kind of story that grabs you right away and doesn’t let go and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I couldn’t imagine finding myself in David’s situation. To not only lose a child but to be serving time for that child’s murder when you know that you didn’t do it. When he learns that his son may actually be alive, he will stop at nothing to find him. I found this book almost impossible to put down and I loved the fact that it kept me guessing until the end.
I had so many questions as I worked my way through this story. I hoped that David would actually find that his son was still alive but then that raised the question of who was actually killed. Every time I thought that I had things figured out, something would happen and I would realize that I had been wrong. I really liked the characters and wanted to see things work out for them. I am not sure that everything that occurred in the book was entirely possible but it was entertaining so it works for me.

This was a fun thriller that kept me guessing! The story opens at a Memorial Day block party and we know that someone is killed but we don’t know who the victim is, who the killer is, or any of the motives. We then go back in time to the year before to find out exactly what happened on this cul-de-sac during the fateful year leading up to the murder. I found this to be incredibly entertaining and hard to put down.
The story is told from two points of view, Alex, a middle age woman who always seems to have a glass of wine in her hand, and Lettie, her 18-year-old daughter. The group of characters that live on this street have a lot of things going on and I couldn’t wait to see how things would play out. As the pieces started falling into place and the murder drew nearer, I became more and more hooked by this story. There were a few surprises worked into the story that helped to keep things very interesting.

I enjoyed the various voices that they used to represent all of the characters in this cul-de-sac. I thought that they added just the right amount of emotion to their reading. I do believe that their narration only added to my overall enjoyment.

I liked this one! I am a huge fan of twisty thrillers so I was more than eager to dive into this book. I was hooked by this book right away and found it incredibly hard to set aside. I wanted to know what really happened to Mason, not to mention the events from Isabelle’s childhood. The narrator really took the story to the next level with her excellent narration. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a try.
Isabelle hasn’t slept since her toddler son, Mason, was taken from his bedroom a year earlier. She may have had a few catnaps but she hasn’t had any real rest. She doesn’t plan to stop until she finds out what happened to her son. The book takes us through the events leading up to that including her relationship with Mason’s father. We also see what she is doing now to try to find out who took her son. There is a second timeline set in the past that explores events from Isabelle’s childhood that I found to be equally captivating.
I really felt for Isabelle because of everything that she has been through but I wasn’t sure if I should trust her. The more we learned about the events leading to Mason’s disappearance, the more questions I had. There were a lot of things that I needed answers to and I couldn’t put the book down until I knew all of the answers. I did need some time to process the story when I finished it because I wasn’t entirely sold by the twists at the end, and I am still not. That said, I did really enjoy the story as a whole.
Karissa Vacker did a remarkable job with the narration of this book. I am completely convinced that my enjoyment of this book was greatly increased by her narration. I thought that the various voices that she used in the story worked really to bring the characters to life. I found her voice to be quite pleasant and easy to listen to for hours at a time. I really felt like she helped to provide an excellent listening experience.

This was entertaining! I read and enjoyed The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder so I was pretty excited to check out Holly Jackson’s newest offering. I was hooked by this story right away and wondered how things would work out. This book was filled with secrets and plenty of twists and turns. I am so glad that I decided to give this one a try.
Based on the book’s title, I had a good idea that one of the six on the trip in the RV was not going to make it home. I didn’t know who it was going to be but I sure knew who I hoped it would be pretty early on. I guess it is safe to say that one of these characters rubbed me the wrong way from the start. We see everything from Red’s point of view and I thought that she was a great character, although she had a few secrets of her own. I couldn’t wait to see how this group would handle everything being thrown at them. This book had plenty of action and a whole lot of secrets to keep things interesting.

This was action-packed from the very beginning! I have heard so many great things about Alex Finlay’s writing and was eager to give this book a try. This book follows 3 individuals that all resided at the same children’s home during their youth. They are all finding themselves in danger now and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what was really going on.
This story is told from three main points of view. Jenna is a wife and stepmother who worked as an assassin in the past. Donnie is a down on his luck rock star. Nico works as a television producer. All three of these individuals lived in a children’s home, Savior House, and it appears that they are now in danger because of the things that happened all those years ago since one of their friends from that time is already dead. The story comes together both in the present and in flashbacks to the past from each of the characters.
I loved the cast of narrators that came together to tell this exciting story. With so many different points of view, I really am happy that several narrators were used since that made it so much easier to determine which character was the focus. I thought that each of the narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life and that their voices worked well together. I am certain that their performance added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

How is it that I have not read any of Sally Hepworth’s books until now?! This is exactly the kind of book that I tend to enjoy with twists and turns that you don’t see coming and keep you glued to the pages. There were a few times that I actually gasped in surprise. This was an incredibly entertaining story that kept me guessing until the very end.
Gabe and Pippa live with their two young daughters in a house that happens to be near a cliff. This cliff has proven to be a popular spot for people hoping to commit suicide. Gabe has earned a reputation for being able to talk would-be jumpers out of the idea until he fails to save one lady. This story is told from both Pippa’s and Amanda’s perspectives. We learn about not only what is going on in the present time but also the history of their relationships and the years leading up to the day Amanda went over the cliff.
Barrie Kreinik and Jessica Douglas-Henry did a marvelous job with this audiobook. I thought that each of the narrators had very pleasant voices that were very distinct so it was always easy to know which perspective was being told. I thought that they were each able to bring just the right amount of emotion to their reading to really bring the story to life. I am positive that their performances added to my enjoyment of this exciting story.

I loved this book! This is the first book of the Haven’s Rock series which is really just a continuation of the Rockton series but in a new location. It was great to be back with Casey, Dalton, Storm, and other familiar characters along with some new ones as they work to solve a new mystery. I have to admit that I was rather stumped by the mystery in this one. I knew that everything had to be connected but I couldn’t guess how it might be. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the thrilling end.
With the closing of the Rockton community, Casey, Dalton, and some of the other members of the community came together to build a new community, Haven’s Rock. They haven’t moved in yet but the construction is nearing completion. Casey and Dalton, along with their dog Storm head to town early to see if they can figure out what happened to the man and woman that have gone missing from the group there to build the town. They soon find the body of a woman but it looks like there might be more going on than they originally thought.
I will definitely be recommending this one! I don’t think that it is necessary to have read the Rockton series prior to this book but I think that fans of that series will get a bit more out of this book than readers unfamiliar with these characters. I had a fantastic time catching up with this group of characters while trying to figure out what was happening in their new town. I look forward to seeing where the series goes from here!

I thought that this book was really good! This is the second book in the Black Harbor series but it works perfectly well as a stand-alone novel since the only connection between the two books is the setting and a few characters. This book juggled a couple of mysteries and I had no idea how anything would turn out in the end. I just love it when a book can keep me guessing and this one had some very surprising moments.
This story is told from two different points of view. Ryan Hudson is an investigator with the local police department. He has been assigned the cold case of Clive Reynolds’s disappearance twenty years earlier but he is also desperate to solve the recent murder of his former partner. Morgan Mori is a photographer who is hired to photograph a party for the Reynolds family only to stumble upon a crime at a convenience store on her way home. There is more going on than either Hudson or Morgan can imagine and they may both have a few secrets of their own.
I liked the characters in this book because they kept me guessing until the very end. Hudson and Morgan both had very interesting histories and I liked the unlikely team they formed, along with Seargent Kole. It was really interesting to see the mysteries unravel and I loved it as each piece of the puzzle fell into place. There was plenty of excitement to go around and once I hit the midpoint of the book, I found it almost impossible to set aside.
I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well-done mystery that contained some darker themes. I look forward to reading more of Hannah Morrissey’s work in the future.

This was fantastic! I picked this book up based on the cover alone and I don’t think that I ever read the book’s description before diving in. I was immediately enthralled by this story of the Bender family. To say this murderous family was dysfunctional would be an understatement. I hate to admit that I didn’t realize that this book was based on actual events until I read the author’s note at the end of the book. I was floored but it makes sense that criminals would have had a much easier time staying hidden during this time period. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a try.
This story is told from 3 points of view. Kate is a younger adult who helps the family by earning money as a medium. Her mother, Elvira, is not your typical loving mother and often comes across as bitter about the things her family has put her through. Kate and Elvira live with Elvira’s husband, William, and son, John. Hanson is a young man in town who ends up spending time with the family. It was clear from the start that this was not a normal loving family. They move to Kansas in order to hide from the crimes of their past only to commit more in their new life. This family of four had no problems murdering anyone that they thought they might benefit from.
This book was full of surprises. These characters could do anything at any moment so the story kept me on my toes. I loved that there were so many twists and turns. The historical setting was incredibly well done and it really illustrated the dangers of living during this time period. It was amazing how these characters were able to fool so many of the neighbors and got away with everything for so long. This story is probably not for the faint of heart since it is often bloody and violent.
I thought that the trio of narrators did an amazing job with the story. Teri Clark Linden, Cindy Piller, and Michael Crouch were all able to bring the story to life through their narration. I feel like they each captured the personalities of the characters they represented perfectly. I listened to this audiobook for hours at a time and found it almost impossible to set aside. I do believe that their narration added to my enjoyment of this story.

I thought that this was a really clever and entertaining book! I can just imagine this group of 60-year-old women working as assassins. As they enter retirement, it appears that the hit is on them and they need to work fast if they want to stay alive. Watching them work together and create plans to deal with the situation was a lot of fun. I am so glad that I decided to pick up this entertaining story.
Billie, Mary Alice, Helen, and Natalie have spent the last 40 years working for the Museum. The Museum is actually an organization of assassins. While they are on their retirement cruise, they spot a hit man and quickly understand that the organization has turned on them so they must work together in order to stay alive. I really enjoyed the methods that they employed as they tried to figure out why they were finding themselves in danger.
This story is told from Billie’s point of view. Most of the book is set in the present day but there are some scenes that take us back to their training and early days on the job. All of the women in this book were fascinating characters and I loved that they were able to juggle their careers with their daily lives but everything is finally coming together. I had fun just thinking about some of the methods these women used to get the job done not to mention the situations they always had to be prepared to deal with. I found this story to be exciting and I was eager to see just why the Museum had turned on them.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. I thought that this was an incredibly entertaining story featuring really unique and likable characters and a mystery that kept me guessing until the end. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author’s work.
