A charity that enables young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing
About us
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies. Our vision Our vision is that every young person develops: • The knowledge, skills, and confidence to use computers and digital technologies effectively in their work, community, and personal life; to solve problems and to express themselves creatively • Sufficient understanding of societal and ethical issues to be able to critically evaluate digital technologies and their application, and to design and use technology for good • The mindsets that enable them to confidently engage with technological change and to continue learning about new and emerging technologies Our long-term goals 1. Education: To enable any school to teach students about computing and how to create with digital technologies, through providing the best possible curriculum, resources, and training for teachers. 2. Non-formal learning: To engage millions of young people in learning about computing and how to create with digital technologies outside of school, through online resources and apps, clubs, competitions, and partnerships with youth organisations. 3. Research: To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

We had an incredible weekend at EY's London office, where we hosted an AI-themed CoderDojo! A huge shout-out to the Raspberry Pi Foundation for providing engaging activities that sparked curiosity among our young coders about the world of artificial intelligence. Sabeehah M. for the interesting illustrations that brought #AI systems to life with real-world examples. #machinelearningforkids extensions where students can train their models and use them in Scratch! We also want to thank the families who joined us and showed their support throughout the session. And, of course, none of this would have been possible without our amazing volunteers Honey L. Iman Jemitola Honn Son Rajeev J. Jodie B. Tittu Mathew Jacob Jess Yang Serena (Xueying) Liu Irfan Iqbal. Thank you for giving your time and knowledge to make a difference. In this blog post, Raspberry Pi Foundation chair John Lazar says a huge thank you to all of the trustees that have support our efforts over the past 16 years, including our six founding trustees and previous chairs (Jack Lang and David Cleevely CBE FREng FIET). As chief executive, I can tell you that having a high quality board that brings a healthy mix of challenge, support, and accountability is absolute gold dust. It enables me and the team to be more ambitious than we ever thought possible. Speaking of brilliant trustees, we're also delighted to welcome three new trustees to the team: Andrew Sliwinski, Laura Turkington, and Stephen Greene CBE. All three are absolutely brilliant humans and I am so excited to work with and learn from them.
A vote of thanks to our Trustees - Raspberry Pi Foundation
