Chief Executive Officer at Raspberry Pi Foundation

In this blog post, Raspberry Pi Foundation chair John Lazar says a huge thank you to all of the trustees that have support our efforts over the past 16 years, including our six founding trustees and previous chairs (Jack Lang and David Cleevely CBE FREng FIET). As chief executive, I can tell you that having a high quality board that brings a healthy mix of challenge, support, and accountability is absolute gold dust. It enables me and the team to be more ambitious than we ever thought possible. Speaking of brilliant trustees, we're also delighted to welcome three new trustees to the team: Andrew Sliwinski, Laura Turkington, and Stephen Greene CBE. All three are absolutely brilliant humans and I am so excited to work with and learn from them.

Wow - 16 years - it seems like only yesterday! It's been so much fun. Excited to see where the trustee board takes the foundation now. New blood and ideas are so important. Onwards and upwards.

Philip Colligan - Congratulations to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, the successful IPO of Raspberry Pi and the introduction of the new AI kit. This is a remarkable achievement (I am big fan of the foundations work over the years, very inspiring) and is a testament to the dedication and vision of the entire team working around Raspberry PI. However, I noticed that the AI kit, while promising, seems to lack comprehensive documentation for Python integrations. Given the timing of its release, one might wonder if it was launched slightly ahead of schedule to boost the IPO price to add that "AI" glamour for potential investors. Clear and robust documentation is crucial for the community and education sector to fully utilize these new products, not just a few simple demo scripts. Do you think it was rushed out? I would think AI in education going to play a big part in the Foundations initiatives going forward. I look forward to seeing more innovations in the future helping prepare the next generation of technologists.
