What is Duet on TikTok?
Duet allows you to post your video side-by-side with a video from another creator on TikTok. A Duet contains two videos in a split screen that play at the same time. Keep in mind, that you must have a public account to allow others to Duet with your videos.
You can choose who can Duet with your videos in your account privacy settings:
• Everyone: If you choose this permission and you have Duet turned on, then anyone can Duet with your videos.
• Friends (Followers you follow back): If you choose this permission and you have Duet turned on, then only people you follow and who follow you back can Duet with your videos.
• Only you: If you choose this permission, then others can't Duet with your videos.
You can turn off Duet on all your existing videos at one time in your privacy settings. This means you don't need to go to each of your videos individually to turn off Duet. To learn more about managing account visibility, visit our Privacy Center.
You can turn Duet on or off before you post, or for an existing video:
• If you turn Duet on: The group you selected in the Duet setting for all your videos can Duet with this video. For example, if you choose to allow only Friends (Followers that you follow back) to Duet with all your videos, then if you turn on Duet for a single video, only your friends can Duet with this video.
• If you turn Duet off: Others can't Duet with your video.
Things to know when you allow someone else to Duet with your video:
• That person's privacy settings will determine who can watch, comment on, download, or interact with the Duet.
• The Duet will only appear on the profile of the person who recorded the Duet. Your original video will only appear on your profile page.
• If you allow others to Duet with your video but then change your settings to limit who can use your video or you delete your video, any existing Duets that have already been made will remain on TikTok. If you have any questions or concerns, you can report the video. You can also choose to delete Duet videos associated with your video.

How to Duet another person's video
To Duet a video on TikTok:
1. In the TikTok app, tap the Share button on the side of the video you'd like to Duet.
2. Tap Duet at the bottom, then choose from the filming options above the Record button.
3. Tap the Record button to create your Duet, then tap the Continue ✓ button.
4. Edit your video, then tap Next. 5. Make additional edits and manage privacy settings.
6. Tap post to publish your Duet, or tap Drafts to save it.
Note: Not all videos have Duet enabled.
Manage Duet privacy settings for all your videos
To choose who can Duet your videos:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
3. Tap Privacy, then select Duet.
4. Tap Duet and choose who can Duet your videos. You can choose Everyone, Friends (Followers that you follow back), or Only you. Keep in mind that you must have a public account to allow others to Duet with your videos.
Manage Duet privacy settings for one of your videos
Before you post a video:
You can choose if you want others to Duet with this video in the final step before you post a video.
1. Create your video.
2. On the Post screen, tap the More options … button.
3. Turn the Allow Duet setting on or off.
For an existing video:
1. Go to the video you'd like to update. You can find your videos on your profile.
2. Tap the More options … button on the side of the video.
3. Tap Privacy settings at the bottom.
4. Turn the Allow Duet setting on or off.
Manage Duet videos associated with your video
You can view or delete Duet and Stitch videos associated with your video. If you choose to delete Duets associated with your video, then all those videos, including your original video, will be permanently removed.
To view or delete associated Duets in your privacy settings:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
3. Tap Privacy, then select Duet.
4. Tap Manage associated videos.
5. Choose the video you'd like to manage, and tap the More options … button next to the video. From here:
༚ Tap See details to view all the Duet and Stitch videos associated with your video.
༚ Tap Remove all, then Remove to delete all videos. This will permanently remove your original video and all associated Duet and Stitch videos. If you wish to keep a copy of your original video, you can download the video to your device before completing the above steps.
To view or delete associated Duets in your activity center:
1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select Settings and privacy.
3. Tap Activity center.
4. Tap Manage associated videos.
5. Choose the video you'd like to manage, and tap the More options … button next to the video.
