So far, so good.
I received this AC 5-13-2024. I did find that I had an issue with the plate that holds the exhaust vent not being tall enough height wise for the hose head to attach to it and have the thing be straight and aligned with the frame of the window that slides up and down. As a temporary fix, and until I can figure something else out to hold that plate up, I folded a towel to the appropriate thickness needed and had to pull it through beneath the plate to hold it up and close the gap to the outside. As for the AC itself, I got it up and running in about 45 minutes, that includes the time to problem solve the issue listed above. The AC took about an hour to make my bedroom tolerable (it was about 84-86 degrees), and maybe 2 hours to cool it off significantly. Installation and initial start up was about 4:30-5:00pm, during the hottest part of the day, so I wasn’t surprised it took a bit of time for the AC to work its magic. I’ve used it for a few days now, and I can say I’m happy with it for the most part. I did find today, 5-14-2024 that my bedroom did heat up a bit and I had to place a small fan in front of the AC to elongate the air column coming from the AC. It’s now 2:15am on 5-15-24 and my room is nice and chilly, which is really what I need. My central AC started blowing warm air late last week, and I ordered this AC unit out of desperation and necessity (I’m in Florida!) to use in my bedroom until I can have the central unit fixed or replaced. I also ordered because my cats were seeming to be uncomfortable too in the daytime heat of the house, and I didn’t want that for them. They have taken to lying near the unit on my desk table, or on top of the machine itself. I do recommend finding a way to place a barrier on top of the AC unit as the panel is touch activated and little cat toes will change settings if cats jump on it and walk around. I solved this problem for the moment by using the styrofoam tray from the bottom of the AC to cover the top of it, and that way, my cats can lie on it and I’m not constantly having to jump up and tinker with the settings my cats changed while being cats lol.

I bought a very similar, almost identical looking unit, with the same ratings for performance, however, less than half of the efficiency rating. I did not notice this until later on. I had to return this other purchase due to poor performance all around. I almost did not buy another portable unit thinking they were all the same more less. I assure you they are very different even though they look pretty much identical. I did a little more research and checked the reviews and saw that Zafro , had some very good reviews all consistently stating this unit worked very well. The Btu's and coverage look all the same after a while, and they all say the will cool your room down quickly, this unit does exactly that while being the most efficient one I could find. I should also mention it is much quiter. It cools my room which is 15 by 20 feet in less than 15 minutes and being upward of 85 90 degrees. You can feel the air from the unit over 15 feet away blowing ice cold air on you, and I am going to tell you that's on low fan speed! It also turns off when temperature is reached and after it cycles, it does not stay continuously running like many others and my previous one that I returned. That is a very nice feature for many obvious reasons. All I can say is don't waste your time with others, this one is a quality machine, I hope it last a long time, on that issue I do not have personal feedback as of yet.

I bought this end of May and it’s June 16th Father’s Day weekend it worked fine then Sunday Father’s Day and it won’t turn on! I drained it which you have to drag it outside ugh! Then when I did it wasn’t much! What the?! Bought it back in turned it on and nothing! The temperature wouldn’t display still it showed numbers lower than 60 like where’s the temperature it had before?! Seriously?! It’s supposed to be the hottest week coming up and we’re without ac! My hubby is mad cursing at it! This is our 1st portable unit. What an experience $300 for what?! We can’t get it to register the room temperature like it did before it just keeps showing numbers from 0 through 25! What kinda temperature is that?! What a waste! I’m so mad! I messaged the company, let’s see how that goes my husband already threw out the box not sure how to ship that huge thing back if I could? They need a dang customer service support number if this happens. I saw tons of ratings before and now nothing? What happened? This one is a 10,000 btu unit. All I know is I’m out money and no ac unit!
