First robot suicide

Bear Robotics

A civil servant robot at Gumi City Council in South Korea was found unresponsive after seemingly intentionally falling down a two-meter staircase.

This incident, described as the country's first "robot suicide," shocked many. The robot, known as the “Robot Supervisor,” had been a model worker since its start in August 2023, handling tasks like document delivery and information dissemination.

Witnesses reported seeing the robot circling in one spot before the fall, leading to various theories about the cause. Some experts suggest the robot might have experienced stress-induced issues, while others point to a possible technical malfunction.

Apple reportedly working on bringing AI to Vision Pro

Apple

Apple is expanding its AI capabilities beyond iPhones, iPads, and Macs to include its Vision Pro headsets, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Despite the Vision Pro's high cost and niche market, Apple plans to integrate its Apple Intelligence features, such as enhanced Siri and custom emojis.

However, these features won't debut on the Vision Pro this year as Apple grapples with adapting them for mixed reality environments.

Additionally, Apple is updating store demos for the Vision Pro and may introduce AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026, potentially enhancing spatial audio and gesture controls when paired with the headset.

Runway released a new text-to-video model

Geeky-gadgets

Tested by MattVidPro AI, it excels with simple prompts, producing realistic videos, while complex prompts reveal its potential and limitations.

The platform's user-friendly interface, customization options, and community engagement features make it a powerful tool for creators.

Future updates aim to further enhance its capabilities.

The headline about "Robot Suicide" was so successful, and the comments showed how little people understood about AI, that the channel's reputation took a big hit.
