YouTube Now Lets You Request Removal of AI-Generated Content Simulating Your Face or Voice

YouTube has introduced a new policy allowing individuals to request the removal of AI-generated content that mimics their face or voice, now viewing such content as a potential privacy violation.

Individuals can submit a request for removal, with YouTube considering factors such as whether the content is disclosed as synthetic, if the person can be uniquely identified, and the public interest value like parody or satire.

Upon receiving a complaint, uploaders have 48 hours to remove the content before YouTube initiates a full review.

Removal involves deleting the video entirely and scrubbing personal details from the metadata.

This move is part of YouTube's broader efforts to address challenges posed by generative AI and deepfakes on its platform.

Meta Plans to Bring Generative AI to Metaverse Games

Meta is integrating more generative AI into its VR, AR, and mixed reality games to revitalize its metaverse strategy.

The company aims to create new gameplay experiences driven by AI, such as games that change each time they are played.

Meta plans to use AI-powered tools to enhance game development efficiency, focusing initially on Horizon, its metaverse platform, but potentially expanding to other platforms like smartphones and PCs.

Meta has previously shown interest in generative AI with projects like Builder Bot and continues to invest heavily in AI technology.

110 New Languages Coming to Google Translate

Google Translate is adding 110 new languages, reaching over 614 million speakers worldwide, about 8% of the global population.

This is the largest expansion in its history. The new languages include major ones like Cantonese and smaller indigenous languages such as Manx.

About a quarter are from Africa, marking the largest expansion of African language support to date.

This expansion is part of Google's 1,000 Languages Initiative.
