Match Group is partnering with Meta and Coinbase to launch Tech Against Scams – a first-of-its-kind coalition of companies from across social media, dating apps, financial institutions, and crypto that aims to respond to and prevent online fraud and financial schemes. From Yoel Roth, VP of Trust & Safety at Match Group: “Tech companies across industries collaborating with each other is essential for preventing criminal activity, and ultimately helps online platforms stay ahead of, and develop effective solutions for, various types of financial crimes.” This coalition will share best practices and threat intelligence, collaborate to combat evolving scam techniques, and educate and protect consumers. Match Group recently celebrated the inauguration of its new office in Singapore, coinciding with Chinese New Year festivities. The event was marked by an array of activities, notably "lo-hei" – a traditional practice where families and friends gather to toss ingredients into the air, symbolizing the ushering in of good fortune. Additionally, attendees were treated to a lion dance performance, a cultural tradition thought to attract luck and prosperity.

This week Match Group announced the safety feature "Are You Sure?" (AYS?) is expanding to millions of users across Match, Stir, OurTime, BLK, Chispa, and Upward by the end of the year. This tool has been a powerful way to help educate and encourage users to not send messages that could be potentially harmful to others. Since the initial roll out of AYS?, more than 500 million messages have been either edited or deleted by users after the feature triggered to flag potentially harassing or problematic language.
