Right-wing news sites should be flourishing right now. Despite a felony conviction, Donald Trump, their movement’s standard-bearer, is in Milwaukee for what promises to be an emotionally charged Republican National Convention, having survived an assassination attempt on Saturday, his face bloodied, his fist defiantly raised. “There is probably no stopping Trump now,” the American Spectator predicted the next day. Meanwhile, Democrats have been panicking for weeks after incumbent Joe Biden’s feeble June 27 debate performance.
