[Update1 06/27] Fits my 17.3" Dell Precision M6600 (Sort Of)

[Update1 06/27] Fits my 17.3" Dell Precision M6600 (Sort Of)
Update 1 - 06/27 - Approximately one week after my purchase of this Backpack, I got an email from Amazon "Your purchase of the AmazonBasics Backpack for Laptops Up To 17-Inch comes with 6 months of FREE Unlimited Online Storage from Amazon Cloud Drive (a $29.99 value) " . Wow this was unexpected and a pleasant surprise as I did not read of this promotion anywhere in the description and it basically pays itself of the entire cost of the Backpack. I am not sure if this is a temporary or permanent promotion.Original Review : I purchased the AmazonBasics Backpack half expecting to return it as I was not entirely sure if it could fit my huge 17.3" Dell Precision M6600 Mobile workstation that I use for work . I mean this laptop is big, thick and heavy - It weighs in excess of 8 pounds and is measures 19.5" inches diagonal externally. But as you can see in my video that it has no issues swallowing my laptop with the least amount of shoehorning or protrusion - So I would declare this a fit , granted that the laptop will only fit in the main compartment outside the laptop sleeve. (see my video) Space, Build Quality & Comfort ------------------------------------------- The backpack has tons of space and compartments (almost too many for my requirements) to carry anything you can think of. I carry mainly my office laptop, powerbank, stationery , towels, lunchbox, headphones, documents and the occasional tablet in it daily with plenty of room to spare- The material of the backpack is fairly good for its price but its certainly not Jansport good.- With all the stuff I carry around my backpack weighs in excess of 12 pounds. Even with this heavy weight I find it comfortable to wear on my shoulders with no unnecessary stress or fatigue points on my body- The shoulder straps seem to be holding up to the 12 pound weight fairly well so far. I will update if that changes in the long run- As you can see it has no issues fitting my 17.3" Dell Precision M6600The Good------------------ Had loads of space and compartments to swallow anything you throw at it and is expandable further- Build quality is surprisingly good at this price point- Zippers glide smoothly- Good looking- Comfortable - Even weighing at 12 pounds after I put my stuff into it, I found it comfortable to wear on my shoulders. Its padded in the right placesThe Not So Good-------------------------- The only minor issue I found so far was an aesthetic one - Because its designed to be expandable and carry so much stuff - If you dont put a lot of things in it , the front part collapses and looks weird and squishy (see my video) . I wish that Amazon would have provided it a more rigid structure- Laptops greater than 17 inches will not fit in the laptop sleeve - They will only fit outside it in the main compartment.Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and it is really a great value for money option which fulfills my need of fitting my large laptop ,have sufficient space to carry other stuff like my lunchbox, chargers and still be comfortable to wear

Quality is great and the materials seem quite durable. The number and purpose of the compartments is what is most impressive to me. You can tell by just looking inside each one what is supposed to go in each one. The computer section has plenty of padding but it also has enough space in case you use a sleeve on your laptop, like I do. The section for pens, pencils and note pads is also good because it is the width of the backpack and deep enough for small rulers, or similar items, as well as small pads and legal size pads as well. A great value at the price point offered in Amazon.

Took it to Europe trip. Perfect size for carry on. Spacious and tough.
Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024
Pros:
- Good amount of pockets and location. The backpack has 3 large (1 for laptop), 1 medium, and 1 small pocket. The small pocket is placed between the laptop pocket and another large pocket, so when it is filled, the bakcpack does not bulge. Other backpacks often have the small pocket in the front, causing this issue to occur
- Backpack seems durable and sturdy. My last backpack was the previous version of this Amazon Basics backpack, and it lasted me over 7 years of school. I switched to this one a year ago, and it seems to be just as sturdy and perhaps even a little more durable.
- The laptop pocket is closest to your back when you wear it, and there is a good layer of padding between the laptop and your back. The padding is thick enough that you shouldn't feel anything poking your back. Even without a laptop in your bag, the padding keeps you from experiencing any discomfort from the items in your bag

Cons:
- The zippers for the backpack are covered by a bit of stiff fabric. This was most likely done for aesthetic reasons, but it makes it a bit harder to open and close the zippers. You end up grabbing the zippers at an angle, and it makes it more likely to get caught on the material inside the backpack. This issue gets better over time as the backpack material breaks in and becomes lesss stiff, but the issue does not fully go away
- The water bottle pockets are a bit too small. I use a 24 oz contigo (3.35" diameter), and it takes some difficulty to put it in the mesh side pocket. It seems like it was built for the thing plastic bottles
- There is a strap that goes from the front of the backpack to the back. It gets in the way of the water bottle area, and makes it a bit harder to insert the water bottle

Additional Notes:
- This is a large backpack. It will take up most of your back, so if you are walking around with a full bag on a hot day, it will get pretty uncomfortable from the heat and you will sweat a lot

5.0 out of 5 stars Idel para el trabajo
Reviewed in Spain on August 23, 2023

2.0 out of 5 stars Nawet za 100 zł nie
Reviewed in Poland on October 13, 2021
Na żywo wygląda bardzo dobrze. Użyte materiały zewnętrzne, suwaki, klamry i paski (na oko mocno wszyte) robią wrażenie bardzo solidnych. Mnóstwo kieszonek i przegródek. Zdecydowany minus to jakość materiału użytego wewnątrz - sztywny i szeleszczący, nieprzyjemny w dotyku, wnętrze małej kieszonki z suwakiem wisi luzem od góry w większej komorze - słabo. Jakość szycia wewnątrz średnia. U mnie poszycie wystaje w jednym miejscu nieco blokując suwak.

Borealisa TNF.

Reviewed in Mexico on November 17, 2019

5.0 out of 5 stars Bisher keine Qualitätsprobleme, man bekommt viel verstaut, super um alles dabei zu haben
Reviewed in Germany on October 30, 2019

=== Qualität / Verarbeitung ===

=== Fächer + kleinstes Fach ===

=== Größtes Fach ===

=== Zweitgrößtes Fach ===

=== Mini-Fach ===

=== Seiten-Clips ===

=== Seiten-Halter ===

=== Fazit ===

=== Qualität / Verarbeitung ===

=== Fächer + kleinstes Fach ===

=== Größtes Fach ===

=== Zweitgrößtes Fach ===

=== Mini-Fach ===

=== Seiten-Clips ===

=== Seiten-Halter ===

=== Fazit ===
