🍦Hope you enjoyed some delicious soft serve at the CWOD Garden Party. Huge thanks to Martin Rigby (ET Capital Limited) for sponsoring the Ice Cream Van. Although it wasn't very sunny, the weather was still perfect for enjoying a cool dessert. The scene was a perfect mix of ice cream, barbecues, music, and plenty of engaging conversations. It was great to see a varied bunch of people from all walks of life and fields coming together under one roof on a nice day to network and enjoy their time! Keep an eye out, as we will shortly be sharing some incredible pictures captured during CWOD-Season 2! #cambridgewideopenday #scienceandtech #innovation #community #becurious #CWOD
Cambridge Wide Open Day
Technology, Information and Media
Explore the city’s world-class science and technology facilities all in one day!
About us
Cambridge has championed collaboration to become one of the leading science and technology clusters in the world. A reputation built on world-leading innovation, fast-growing science and tech companies, academia, and innovation centres - underpinned by investment, people and skills. To support and further progress this world-leading position requires inclusive collaboration across the Cambridge community. Designed to provide the whole community a chance to visit and experience the cluster first-hand, o2h created Cambridge Wide Open Day. In a first of its kind event, Cambridge Wide Open Day offered a unique insight into the city’s world-renowned science and technology. The Season 2 of this event will be held on 12th June 2024 welcoming visitors from across the Cambridge community - from scientists, techies, people working across different sectors to residents - to explore the innovations in Cambridge. Companies will open their doors from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm, and bus and VIP tours are available. To top off the day, all participants are invited to a garden party reception at the o2h co-work labs at Hauxton House, Mill SciTech Park from 4.00 pm. Click the links below to sign up as an organisation to open your doors, join the open day or tour, or attend the garden reception party.

Cambridge Wide Open Day reposted this
This year's second annual Cambridge Wide Open Day was such a success organisers are planning an entire week for next year's event. The celebration of the city's science and technology sector saw host venues open their doors to visitors who were able to find out more about the game-changing scientific advancements and technological innovations taking place inside. Many of our member organisations were involved including Allia, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge Consultants, Mills & Reeve, Howard Group's Unity Campus and Bruntwood SciTech's Melbourn Science Park. The day saw attendance figures of more than double those in 2023 with 177 companies hosting a mix of talks, presentations, demonstrations, tours, masterclasses and booth stands. Cambridge Wide Open Day reposted this
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, visited, exhibited, provided cakes and refreshments, and in any way organised any part of this year's Cambridge Wide Open Day - what an amazing team effort. From interactive demos, exhibitions, company tours, speed networking (and cupcakes!) to more formal knowledge sharing talks, it was a positively jam-packed day. We loved welcoming guests to the centre and heard so many positive conversations: about #SJIC, the innovative companies based here, and the Cambridge cluster more widely. There's a real sense of pride about the amazing, trailblazing work happening at the centre and within the wider St John's Innovation Park community and we were more than pleased to showcase that. #CWOD #Cambridge #Innovation #StartUps Sue Rollings Barnaby Perks Miranda Edwards Stephanie Martlew Innovate UK East Special thanks to: ENHANC3D GENOMICS Mewburn Ellis Silogic Technology VNC Automotive Crayfish.io Cambridge Kinetics Archipelago Technology Group Ltd RFcreations Novalia F-INSTITUTE ET Capital Limited

This year, over 177 companies and speakers hosted a diverse array of talks, presentations, masterclasses, pitches, and more! We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers and host venues for their enthusiastic and voluntary participation. Their dedication to Cambridge and its vibrant innovation ecosystem is evident, showing that both residents and those working in the Cambridge community are equally passionate about supporting and nurturing this dynamic scene. This fuels our ambition and optimism to transform this event into a full-week festival, celebrating and showcasing the best of Cambridge in Life Sciences, Biotech, Tech, AI, and more. Look forward to #CambridgeWideOpenWeek!

The Season 2 of #CambridgeWideOpenDay last week was an absolute triumph, thanks to the incredible turnout of curious attendees, gracious host venues and coordinators, insightful speakers, generous sponsors (Mills & Reeve, Appleyard Lees IP LLP, Marks & Clerk, ET Capital Limited, Martin Rigby, Fora , Kate M. RXCELERATE LIMITED), and comms support from Faye Holland, cofinitive, and last but not the least, special thanks to Business Weekly newspaper for the feature! This year's success sets the stage for an even grander celebration of Cambridge's innovative spirit in 2025 with the launch of #CambridgeWideOpenWeek. Stay tuned!
So many companies – plus visitors from as far afield as the US and Switzerland – backed last week’s Cambridge Wide Open Day that organiser Prashant Shah of o2h group is extending the event to Cambridge Wide Open Week for 2025. A total of 21 host venues took part, from Cambridge Science Park in the North to Melbourn and across to Haverhill, and much in between. Some 177 companies and speakers hosted a mix of talks, presentations, demonstrations, tours, masterclasses and booth stands – providing the broadest offering of cutting-edge Cambridge science, tech and innovation for the visitors. The West Hub at the University of Cambridge showcased 16 of the Cambridge West companies including British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge Nucleomics, Maxwell Centre, University of Cambridge, Semarion, YPMH: The Foundation For Young People's Mental Health and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). Allia hosted 21 speakers/companies at its two main sites in Cambridge – at its Future Business Centre campus in King’s Hedges, home to a cluster of CleanTech and ‘Tech for Good’ startups, and at the Cambridge Guildhall centre in the heart of the city. Prashant Shah, creator of Cambridge Wide Open Day said: “Cambridge Wide Open Day (CWOD) has been so popular for two years, next year we will be extending it to Cambridge Wide Open Week (CWOW). “We will be bringing community and influencers together in a week-long event of activities, which will include a life science awards event, a biotech bikers day as well as the regular Cambridge Wide Open Day on the Wednesday. We’ve already tested the idea, and it’s going to be very exciting. So, block out your diaries already for a whole week dedicated to life science and biotech on 9-14 June 2025.” One of this year’s CWOD visitors, Elvina Petrėnaitė-Kartanė, founder of workplace design specialist SynergiSpace, said: “It’s been incredible to have this opportunity to see what’s behind the normally closed doors of the Cambridge science parks, universities, businesses and other facilities. Wow, there are so many wonderful, hidden gems! As with last year, I ran out of time to see everything, so I am looking forward to seeing more with the week-long event next year.” Full article – https://lnkd.in/e3CQ57Vs
