Our Google Pixel 8a battery life test is ready

Ro, 28 May 2024

The Pixel 8a is powered by a 4,492mAh battery, a hair smaller capacity than the Pixel 8’s 4,575mAh cell. It also features a smaller display with a 6.1-inch diagonal instead of 6.2”.

And since the two phones use an identical chipset, it's no surprise the Pixel 8a scored a similar Active Use Score as the original Pixel 8 – 11 hours and 25 minutes. It offers 23 hours of call time, over 10 hours of web browsing, over 13 hours of video streaming and over 7 hours of gaming. Not bad for a compact phone.

Still, there are quite a few other similarly sized competitors that post better Active Use scores - at least 13 hours or more.

Stay tuned for the full review where we take a deeper dive into the other aspects of the handset.

Yeah. To me, I don't really care about the refresh rate as far as my phone lasts for me from 9 to 5, i'm good. I don't game either, i only makes calls, email, YouTube and most times Zoom Meeting

I'm not praising Apple, I'm throwing shade at Google. Nearly everyone except for Google has better performance at the same price bracket. Compare Pixel 8 with Xiaomi 14, Pixel 8 Pro with the S24 Ultra/iPhone 15 Pro Max, etc.

Why bring your mum to such a low standard to praise apple?
