It must have had a UI like Samsung, Huawei,... morenever had an Xperia but my aunt swears by them, and I have a Pixel which has quite similar software and I have honestly found the software on my Pixel to be excellent, far better than my Samsung. really the only illogical bit is the multitude of camera apps. seriously, sony, bunch them all together into the one app PLEASE
RaduOp , 10 Mar 2024To be fair it's uncluttered and looks rather clean. However, when trying to actually use ... moredouble click for flashlight isn't that standard lol it's usually set up to be the camera and afaik only Samsung has it. just use Microgesture and stop complaining.
its a smurf, 21 Mar 2024Isn't the regular S basically the same size as this? This is the last year it seems, but yes, it's the only one that remains from the big players. Although it has a hole in the display.
Why Sony Xperia 5 iii. Is hearting

We have got to admire Sony for their perseverance and stubbornness into not giving into the trends regarding display size and selfie camera. I believe they are the last from the major players that still hold on to smaller sizes and refusing to drill holes into the display for selfie cameras. I've been a long term customer of Sony for all my devices, until some 5 years ago, when they started a weird pricing policy, switching to a more cost to quality effective brands but still...I thought Sony would not survive in their ways but much to my joy, they did. Now I am beginning to think about a Sony phone at least if not for the exaggerated prices but for what I said before, smaller size, selfie camera not in display. That so called "Sony tax" although according to some is a tax for quality is no longer viable today and stops a lot of people from buying Sony products. I really, really hope they will become more price competitive and I'll return in no time into their system, with all electronics.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2024Sony phones have very poor and user unfriendly UI. It must have had a UI like Samsung, Huawei,... moreIn my opinion (and I record many samples and films), VideoPro app have the best UI on the market (PhotoPro and CinemaPro too). It is practically impossible to make a better UI in a video recording application. Additionally, it has some UI from professional cameras like Venice 2 and Burano. Everything is at hand, we have menu tabs 1 and 2, nothing covers the 16:9 preview and we have it full screen. I played with the Galaxy S24U and its application and I'm sorry but it has nothing to do with professionalism. Rest of UI is almost clean Android. I miss "Album" photo - the best on the market :(
And now, write for us... what is soo unfriendly in Xperia UI. I own Xperia XZ3 (5 years) and Im happy. My old Xperia owns Album app, clean Andorid, and split screen. You can watch YT and type with someone on the same widnow. I think it is userfriendly.
Alpha, 09 Mar 2024No its ok, we like the Sony UI..To be fair it's uncluttered and looks rather clean. However, when trying to actually use the phone and realize that even basic functions like double click on the button for flashlight is not implemented, one comes to realize how really handicapped it is.
Pitchwisse, 29 Feb 2024I have seen numerous reports of rainbow banding. Can anyone confirm or deny?Mine had waves and waves of rainbows and I sent it back. It was an early production unit, so maybe they fixed it meanwhile - but I highly doubt that.

Sony phones have very poor and user unfriendly UI. It must have had a UI like Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, Vivo etc.
Pitchwisse, 29 Feb 2024I have seen numerous reports of rainbow banding. Can anyone confirm or deny?İ can deny for my unit, there's no rainbow effect maybe factory issue on some units
Anonymous, 27 Feb 2024Is it too slippery without a case?No , very comfortable on hand. Also You can buy Transparent case for better protection and hold
Wami, 26 Feb 2024Yes I have Updated my Xperia 5V and minor improvement on Camera apps and OS, but still buggy w... moreI can confirm this.
When using Stamina mode on my 5V, the bluetooth will not work properly. My hearing aid device and app will not connect in a correct way.
And it doesn't help turning Stamina off and/or toggle flightmode off/on - I have to reboot the phone.
I think this is a Android 14 "handshake" issue, not necessarily Sony issue, as other user reports the same (Samsung, Nothing, Google).

Using Stamina makes bluetooth unstable on by device and I have to reboot the phone to make blutetooth working properly again (hearing aid etc). It is not sufficient to just turn off/on flightmode or bluetooth itself.
Pitchwisse, 29 Feb 2024I have seen numerous reports of rainbow banding. Can anyone confirm or deny?I saw that on Galaxy S24Ultra
