Sadly Its their phones dna now {overpriced-narrow} and i strongly believe they never have meetings to talk about sales and how to maximize them (they probably do but the outcome is stupid).

All the photo crap aside, will it connect to all or most carrier frequencies or at the very least, will it have wifi calling?

gone, reduced to atoms.
If you look at Sony Hong Kong and Thailand web site, the Asian excluding Japan will have 256GB storage and 8 GB Ram
Where is the notification LED ?

In terms of dynamic range ExmorT is superb and mind blowing (and writing this person that owns full frame [4K120fps]). This is true next generation sensor.

I guess there's a missing detail with the description here, the main lens has 2 focal lengths, 24mm and 48mm
This should be mentioned..
So basically we have a 2x optical zoom here.
The absence of the telephoto that was present in its predecessor and a single 8GB + 128GB option?????
shame sony doesn't ditch that stupid remote control aspect ratio, so their phones are extremely long + value for money is horrible, extremely overpriced for the specs even compared to pricey Samsung
Need a tele lens

That ultra wide lens is useless. If there was some reasonable medium zoom, say 60 to 80 mm instead of ultra wide, it could have been a nice little camera phone... But without telephoto for portraits... I am not interested.

Just take a look.
If you cut the central 12 MP portion of the wide (48 MP) camera of 5 V (2ร digital zoom) you'll get an equivalent camera of 12MP, F1.9, 48mm, and sensor size 1/2.7".
Which is โ let's be honest โ is not that worse (even slightly better) than the original 12MP, F2.4, 60mm, 1/3.5".
This new configuration actually can rival on entry-level DSLRs equipped by kit lenses.
kesztio, 31 Aug 2023S23 is out of question as all copies have their screens broken. That is, on every S23 there is... moreNice way of showing what is 'show, not tell'.
Anyway, you can just use software to hide that cutout. Just add a black bar on top. Otherwise, you should be able to get used to it. It's not extremely intrusive.
