Lonteku , 26 May 2023Why 200mp? Imagine Asus use 50mp 1'inch sensor and the rear copying japanese phone Aquos R7.I don't think it'll be cheap to use 1" sensor. Also, there are three types of 200MP sensor exist (not counting the custom sensor for the S23 Ultra).
thats a good price btw
if you like smaller size maybe you should wait for xperia 5 V
SuuperBaka, 26 May 2023People seem to have a warped definition of small nowadays. A 6.3 inch screen ain't small Most of them consider wherever is relatively small as small phone. But that's just wrong
Anonymous, 26 May 2023They have abandoned the midrange segment. It's interesting that they actually started with an entry level Zenfone when they arrived several years ago. Their first smartphone was called Zenfone 5 and I bought maybe 2 of them. And then some more later on. It was only after Zenfone 4 that they went into flagship territory and the phones with sd 636 and maybe an 845 was called once again Zenfone 5 and 5z. And they're flagship phones ever since

asus is the worst in terms of software updates, worse than motorola.

notafanboy, 26 May 2023No telephoto I'm guessing?Considering telephone is 80mm or beyond, just few devices have
Last Asus phone I had was the Zenfone 6 also know as Asus 6Z.. It had such an amazing flip camera module, unfortunately I lost it. Asus should re introduced the Full Screen Notchless trend with an improved Flip Camera.. It solved 3 problems, first as there is no notch or hole in the screen, it will provide a full screen viewing experience and also no privacy concerns for people who think the front selfie cam acting as a spy and thirdly, selfies with the rear cameras are much better than the screen hole cameras. Hope Asus will bring back the Flip Camera π

Given that the RRP for base Zenfone 9 8/128 is $699, $50 increase for a larger 6.3" screen and a bigger 200MP main camera sensor is actually not too bad. Nevertheless, I'm excited for the upcoming Zenfone 10 despite no longer being a compact flagship phone.

Anonymous, 26 May 2023No smaller size anymore so itβs uninteresting. Just buy a Samsung or iPhone or a Pixel at this... morehell nah
Asus needs to make a decent midrange phone, and release it in Europe! With Oppo in trouble and Xiaomi being Xiaomi (sigh), it's a perfect opportunity for them to maybe get a decent market share. Slap on a MediaTek Dimensity chip, a decent 90/120hz panel, a good 50mp camera, and there you go.
6.3inch isn't small, it similar as Xiaomi13
6'3 is not as small as 5'9 but it's still comfortable to hold in the hand, as long as it's not another 6'7 electronic waste, 6'3 is fine
Asus, 26 May 2023Zenphone 9 remains the smallest cool android phone this one is too big It's just a shame that it's actual dimensions were no smaller than an S22 or iPhone 12/13/14.
not sure what's the selling point over samsung after the samsung already improved the battery life on their smallest flagship and retained the compact size... plus this one will get one android major update?
