Yesterday, the Supreme Court issued its ruling in Idaho v. United States; Moyle v. United States – the case about whether emergency abortion care is included under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). SCOTUS failed to tell states they cannot ban emergency abortions. In conjunction with today’s two year anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund released a new analysis on the impact of abortion bans and has joined the Abortion Access Now Campaign, collaborating with other health, rights, and justice organizations. This landmark ruling led many states to change their laws; 43% of women of reproductive age, plus trans and nonbinary people, now live in states that ban or limit abortion — that means 28 million women of reproductive age live in states with an abortion ban. She and Heather Foster spoke to a diverse audience of businesses, foundations, investors, non-profits, and change makers about the value of reproductive rights and health care access. COMPANIES TAKE NOTE: NEW SURVEY SHOWS MAJORITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE WON’T WORK IN STATES WITH ABORTION BANS. More information below on this newest survey, yet another example of what is made clear in other research: workers want to be employed by organizations who support #reproductive freedom, and that #recruiting reflects that as well. Yesterday, Generation Lab/CNBC released a new survey that surveyed 1,033 people between the ages of 18 and 34 on topics related to the job market, the economy, the 2024 presidential election, inflation concerns, and other big issues impacting young Americans. Researchers found that nearly two-thirds of respondents would “probably not” or “definitely not” live in a state that banned abortion. 45% of respondents said that they would “definitely reject” or “probably reject” a job offer located in a state where abortion is illegal. #talent #HR #recruiting #abortion #reproductivehealth https://lnkd.in/g-atcyRJ

It was our great pleasure to welcome a delegation from Belgium, including State Secretary for Gender Equality, Equal Opportunities and Diversity Marie-Colline Leroy, at one of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York's health centers in the Bronx during her attendance to the United Nations Session of the Commission on the Status of Women this month. After a tour of the facilities, we participated in a robust discussion about sexual and reproductive health and rights centered on patients who confront the greatest barriers to access, as well as on topics around the politicization of health care in both our countries. At CSW68, Sec. Leroy supported PPFA's fight for reproductive freedom wearing a #BansOffOurBodies pin while giving testimony on behalf of the European Union.
