Last night, The Forum attended the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Civil Litigation Section Philadelphia Region Dinner to hear Forum Board Member, the Honorable Kelley Hodge talk about her career path and how it led her to be appointed to the Federal Bench. Thank you for sharing your story with us. We were also grateful to hear from the Honorable Mia Roberts Perez and the Honorable Kai N. Scott who inspired when they shared about their journeys to judicial commission. ✨ Our takeaway: Not all paths are linear. You have to seize opportunities as they come and believe that you are up for the job—because you are!

Today is #BlackWomensEqualPayDay and this Forbes piece by Aparna R. gets to the heart of the issue: "Black Women's Equal Pay Day serves as a bleak reminder that a Black woman must labor for nearly 20 months to achieve equivalent earnings to a white man in just 12 months. Recognizing Black Women's Equal Pay Day shines a light on a multifaceted issue that is rooted deeper than just the wage gap; it has to consider socio-economic disparities, highlight systemic issues such as gender bias, occupational segregation, and the lack of advancement opportunities."
