Oh, this thing? This is a web-comic based on "Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller", a point-and-click graphic adventure game. The game is average and the comic is crap. Don't waste your time on it.

A prequel short story book to BioShock Infinite, with the origins of Daisy Fitzroy, one of the game antagonists.
LOVED BioShock Infinite. The whole plot, Elizabeth, Booker and the non stop action. Gaming perfection.
Sadly this prequel book was very far from it.

Weisshaupt, headquarters of the Grey Wardens, midst of the Mage-Templar war. Valya, a young elven mage recruit, is tasked with the study of ancient historical documents regarding the Darskpawn, in an attempt to understand the troublesome recent sightings of previously unknown abominations. During her investigations of the past Fourth Blight, she uncovers many disconcerting secrets about the Order, and many facts about the now extinct Griffons, once the pride of the Grey Warden Order, and their fabled riders.
A novel that can be read as a sequel to Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, with enticements of things to come; or as a prequel, since most of the plot’s action occurs in documents of the past Fourth Blight, more than four centuries ago of current events. No previously known characters appear in this installment, and few new are introduced. Valya, from the present time; and Garahel and Isseya, from the past, among others. All Grey Wardens.
This novel mainly focuses on what it meant to be a Grey Warden in the past, and especially as a Griffon rider. Interesting. as always with Dragon Age lore, and griffons could be a neat concept for upcoming games, if that’s the idea. Nice overall to learn a bit more of the heroes of the previous Blights, yet sadly not much is added regarding the current timeline. Entertaining, but ultimately not recommendable.

All nobility in Orlais is adept to “the Game”, a systematical fight for power. Alliances, betrayals, conspiracy, rumors, lies a The life of a Noble.
All nobility in Orlais is adept to “the Game”, a systematical fight for power. Alliances, betrayals, conspiracy, rumors, lies and truths disguised as lies; everything valid to get to the top. At this game Queen Celene of Orlais has kept herself strong and powerful for more than twenty years. However, the conflict between Mages and Templars keeps escalating all over Thedas; a possible uprising of the army at the command of General Gaspard threatens to break a precarious balance; and terrible injustices forces the marginated elves to a search for freedom and a revindication of their species. All the internal conflicts threaten to unleash a bloody civil war that will destroy all of Orlais, from the queen to everyone below.
Briala is an elven maid, orlesian bard, spy, lover and right hand of Queen Celene. When the conflict between humans and elves reaches a point of no return, she’ll be forced to choose between her love and human queen, or herself and the subjugated elven race she belongs to.
A novel that works as a sequel to Dragon Age 2 and “Asunder” and prequel to the events of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. Several characters are explored indepth, among them Celene, Briala, Gaspard, Ser Michel, Teagan and Leliana. Interesting as the previous installments to further expand the lore of the Dragon Age world, although nothing especially remarkable. And maybe the weakest of the series so far.
This novel mainly focuses on what it means to be Nobility in the world of Orlais, with every machination, manipulation and skill required to survive. Personally I couldn’t care less about all that political mambo jumbo, whether it’s from my country or fictional Orlais, so this novel felt kinda tedious. However, I rescue from it seeing Leliana again some more, and meeting several characters that later do appear in DA3. Still, not recommendable, not even for a Dragon Age fan, unless you happen to enjoy all that political and cloak and daggers stuff.

A series of unexplained murders start happening at the White Spire, heart of the Templar Order in the Kingdom of Orlais. Mage Rhys embarks on a perilous journey to the Western borders in a risky attempt to prove his innocence. Several discoveries along the way will change his life forever, and ultimately the life of every mage in Thedas.
A novel that works as a sequel to Dragon Age 2 and prequel to the events of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. Several DA characters are explored further, mainly Rhys, Adrian, Wynne, Shale, Evangeline and Cole; and even a bit of Fiona and Leliana.
It was wonderful to see Wynne and Shale again (view spoiler)[, and devastating to see one of them go (hide spoiler)]. Cole has always been a mysterious and disturbing character. Rhys, Adrian and Evangeline were ok, but never really grew on me; and it was very disappointing to have them barely mentioned in DA3. Leliana was a major crush for me in DA1, and the main reason I started to read this series in the first place; it was very rewarding to finally see her again, however briefly.
This novel is basically focused in what it means to be a Mage in the world of Thedas. And partly explains the background in the complex chain of events that end up in the full scale war between the Order of the Magi and the Templar Order. Interesting, entertaining and revealing. I think the best of the series so far. Yet still not really recommendable, except maybe for a Dragon Age fan.

A novel that works as a sequel to “The Stolen Throne” and prequel to the events of Dragon Age 1: Origins, where we get to know a bit more deeply some characters of the game, like Maric, Duncan and Loghain. And some of the enemies, like The Architect. There’s a fleeting moment with Fiona that explains the origins of Alistair. This novel is basically focused to what it means to dedicate your life as one of the Grey Wardens. Interesting and entertaining from time to time, but far from being memorable or recommendable, and least of all to someone not a fan of Dragon Age.

When the Rebel Queen is murdered along with her family and supporters, her young son Maric is forced to flee the scene and join a group of rebels in a desperate quest for survival and vengeance to depose the usurper King Meghren. This is he story of prince Maric Theirin, outlaw Loghain Mac Tir and warrior maiden Rowan, in their battle for the freedom of the Kingdom of Ferelden during the occupation by the foreign forces of Orlais.
Based on the “Dragon Age” video game franchise (one of my favorites, if not my most), this novel works as a prequel to the events of Dragon Age 1: Origins, happening thirty years before the Blight and the war that threatened to destroy the whole world of Thedas.
Although interesting from an informative and anecdotal point of view, it’s difficult to objectively read a prequel with Loghain playing as a hero when you know later is one of the worst villains of the game. Also Prince Maric is kind of a whimp. And the ending sucks.
Overall, an excessively long, sporadically entertaining reading, but not recommendable, and especially not for someone not familiarized with the world of Dragon Age.
