Scottie Zajac is an insecure basketball player trying to get back with her ex-girlfriend after their recent breakup. Irene Abraham is a very popular cheerleader desperately trying to win athlete of the year to get into college. When they accidentally car crash in the school parking lot, they find themselves forced to carpool for a while, until Scottie has a wild idea that could greatly benefit both. The only catch is, they’ll need to try to forget the fact that they hate each others guts.
This was a very nice sapphic Romance. Although with some questionable attitudes, Scottie and Irene were very nice, very flawed individuals. Sadly all the situations felt kind of artificial, at least until the middle; but after coming clean it all became more natural, and they started to grow on me. I found myself enjoying and liking a lot more all the secondary characters. Danielle, Kevin, Honey-Belle, Gunther, Thora and the adorably unpredictable little Daphne. On the other hand, hated Tally, and Charlotte. I think a bit more laugh out loud moments and an occasional different pov besides Scottie's could have worked wonders. Still, some very heartwarming moments, and a few tear jerking ones as well, with an intensive nonstop slow burn. A powerful message on the importance of communication and respecting the healing process. In all, a highly enjoyable read. Enemies to lovers, fake dating, LGTB, YA and a lot of movie references. Almost fav.

¡Swish!
Casi favorito.

Tiffy More desperately needs an apartment after her recent breakup with Justin. Leon Twomey works the night shift and needs rent money to help his brother Richie. Tiffy and Leon will be sharing the same apartment for months, they will never meet.
I LOVED IT WITH ALL MY HEART. Loved Tiffy right from the start, so sweet, and funny! Took me a little longer to open up to Leon, but maybe because I’m just as reserved as he is. I also can’t explain how much I loved Rachel, she’s like THE perfect bff. Always made me smile or laugh whenever she was around. Mo and Gerty were great. So was Richie. And Holly. On the other hand, totally HATED Justin with every fiber of my being, and my only complaint about this book is that I feel he wasn’t punished enough. (view spoiler)[ Although I like to think that he got leprosy and his dick fell off. What’s fair is fair right? (hide spoiler)]
I think all the hype and fame as one of the best romcoms is very well deserved. Endless supply of quotes and moments to remember by. Lost track of how many times this book made me smile, laugh and swoon, wholesome like a healing balm to the soul. Painful moments also included along the ride. The post-it thing was simply adorable. The banter was addictive. The slow burn was beyond amazing.
PERFECTION; like few others I’ve ever read. One of those books I would love to re-read like the first time.

Alex Blackwood and Molly Parker are both starting Pitt University. Alex is easy going and kind of a player; trying to rebuild her relationship after a recent break-up with Natalie. Molly is super shy and socially anxious; an introvert in desperate quest for new friends, and hopelessly in love with unattainable Cora. Alex is going to try to help her win her heart, and craziness is going to unfold for everyone involved.
I’m going to start by saying that my experience with rom-com and lgbt novels is near non-existent. That said, THIS WAS AWESOME. The kind of book I would love to reread like the first time. Molly has my winning socially inept personality, and Alex my occasional boldness and snarky humor, so it was no problem relating with them both. This novel shoved my butterflies all over the place and is as sweet as it can possibly get, without ever becoming too much. I lost count of how many times it made me laugh and smile. Swooning is also guaranteed. Perfect chemistry. Endless supply of quotes and moments to remember by.
I think this novel has a pretty easy lovable theme, so if you don't feel the magic by the first third of the book I would suggest to drop it, it won’t happen. The plot offers nothing new, I know I’ve seen something similar before, just can’t exactly pinpoint where. The ending is utterly predictable, I went in with nothing but the title and the skates of the cover, and still already guessed the ending by chapter 5. So this is not a novel about the ending, it’s a novel about the ride. And what a ride it was. Truly unforgettable. A spot in “Perfection” shelf, solid favorite and possible Top 10. Extremely recommendable, for the right audience. And I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a movie someday.
----------------------------------------------- PERSONAL NOTE: I had this friend, BFF for so long, so many years. Time and distance eventually drew us apart; but I still remember her from time to time. She loved roller figure skating. Won competitions even, the works. So when I saw the roller skates on the cover I immediately thought of her and simply HAD to read it. This one was for you, Ve. [2022] [384p] [4,5] [Rom-Com] [LGTB] [Highly Recommendable] (view spoiler)[[The legend himself, Mr. Seven-Cents] [Am I going to live, Doc?] (hide spoiler)] [The rollers is just one scene, a lovely scene, but it’s not figure skating, not derby either] -----------------------------------------------
