Similarly, I witnessed Patrick Stewart’s major events from birth to age 83. I found him sweet but like all good autobiographies do, I intimately acquainted him after being unfamiliar with his history. These illuminations were delightful, especially with Patrick writing to match his amiable personality. He is a superb storyteller, who got edited from 750 down to 440 pages. He spent a touching chapter describing the rooms of his parents’ house.
This is the style that SILENCES uncreative people who complain about nonlinear stories. Trekkies, there is a lot about The Next Generation and a little about Picard, The X-Men, Dune, Extras, and American Dad. I was unexpectedly treated to paranormal experiences. Of his kids and Grandchildren, there is nearly nothing. Divorce upset his family in 1990 but earlier memories would balance and relieve a top-heavy subject of minimal interest to me.
“Making It So” 2023, discussed every theatre role until he began screen acting. I like theatre but loathe Shakespeare. I read willingly.... until his children’s births comprised one sentence. Come on! When he wrote of theatre after Star Trek finished, I pled no more!
“G Em C D G” are the easiest guitar chords and in May 1983, they made “Every Breath You Take” a world phenomenon. My friend played me the “Synchronicity” record when we were 11! Patrick loves classical music but before the 1990s, radio was not streamlined and mixed all major hits. Sting is from England, where Patrick and his peers performed and saw posters. There was no excuse not to know Sting when they filmed “Dune” in summer 1983!
Thankfully, Patrick’s young wife, Sunny is a singer. I loved his autobiography. Four stars criticize this editor’s lack of content balance.

I did not knoEvery 1980s child loved Ron Howard and Henry Winkler. Because Arthur Fonzarelli’s name and mannerisms were Italian, I thought Henry was. I did not know he is a German, Jewish, New Yorker; a city that explains greaser speech styles. I was stunned that his parents escaped WWII and sad they were not warm parents. I did not know Henry was a Yale drama graduate. I know he is dyslexic, funny, and a proud Dad and Grandpa. A line saying he dislikes cats was dropped without a reason!!! I bemoan neighbourhood dogs with clear citations.
I loved all the stories of “Being Henry: The Fonz... And Beyond”. This new release has the prestige of being read by me, used book buyer, the year it was published: 2023! My spouse bought me the first edition for Christmas. I savoured its enlightening stories for two days. I forgot “Happy Days” is where the greats, Robin Williams and Tom Hanks got started. The story of Henry knowing his dream and overcoming fear is compelling.
Audiences are oblivious to executives, who do not always keep great shows. I loved reading of familiar actors like John Ritter, with whom Henry worked and befriended. He should have mentioned the loss of Erin Moran. Otherwise, he told fulfilling anecdotes about how it feels to prepare, audition, wait, and succeed. He shares wisdom generously. I am astonished he produced “MacGyver”, another childhood favourite! He was not idle but I did not see him after “Happy Days” in 1984, until “Little Nicky” in 2000.
Like with Michael J. Fox, I have numerous blu-rays to buy. Our internet is only dial-up. I happily bestow four glowing stars. Low self-esteem and dyslexia dominated too much focus but this whole autobiography was a treat. Henry, audiences need and love players of all ages!

The first thing I seek oHere is an anecdote from Christmas with my Dad last month, 2023. This Robert Service CD was one of his gifts from me, you see.
The first thing I seek on albums, books, photographs, letters, cards.... is their year. Who issues merchandise without a date, on the insert or CD!? Its internet reference will have to come from me. Thankfully, on the recording, 1940 is identified: voilà!
No one knows my Dad enjoys poetry. He memorized some from schooldays and others that moved him. A family of talented musicians on both sides, our Dad loves good entertainment of any kind. A few years ago, I think I mentioned buying a book about the Yukon or Robert. Dad exclaimed that “The Shooting Of Dan McGrew” was one of his favourites, which he quoted the first verse of. He reminisced about a friend of an old relative reciting that poem in a stentorian manner, impressing me to imagine that good poetry is made to be performed aloud.
You can guess how delighted I was, to recently find “The Robert Service Story” on CD! It was only $1.00 CDN but the point is: Robert delivers his poems! His story is narrated by a Canadian broadcaster, Les McLaughlin; who annoyingly used the poet’s last name all the way through. That and lack of detail is why it receives three stars.
My Dad was as pleased as I imagined and we played his favourite poem. Politely, Dad observed that the delivery was lacklustre. I thought the same but replied “They are his poems and we are learning how he sounded, from before you were born”. Dad concurred but reiterated that he had heard better. We turned it off and I laugh that Dad finds Robert lacking as an orator, if not as a memorable author!

I did not see “Home Improvement”, “Baywatch”, or “Barb Wire”. My interest is Canadians, animal warriors, and women commanding respect from an obnoxious world. I myself talk with nature, healthy and young after age 50! I have never dyed my shining brown hair. Women know we are wise and intellectual but the media impressionable public needs to smarten up.
Autobiographies share the feelings and stories of people and their professions. Authors want to be understood correctly. Sometimes storytelling is therapy for pain. Thus, Pamela Anderson had to write her way: interspersing her poetry into an unconventional book. I love her original, free flow. This is a wise, compassionate, thoughtful, superbly authored autobiography. Its quality easily earns five stars, if you are not detail oriented. My passion for provenance is largely why I have given this sensitive story three stars, with my praise recorded via these words.
“Love, Pamela”, my first edition, November 2023 birthday present, marvellously balances the family, setting, and childhood the authoress comes from, with how she is now. I must think too linearly. I greatly admire how Pamela transported us directly to events she wanted to show us, without preamble. I would feel that I needed to introduce people one by one. In contrast, Pamela chose a “need to know” basis that works. She discussed what impacted her life and explained that dates are not her forté.
Years are part of the setting in context with our world. Could I relate to these timeframes? Was Mötley Crüe’s prime over when she married Tommy Lee? Pamela expressed that she loved making “Baywatch”, without reminiscences of castmates. Are they friends? Readers would enjoy a few sentences about a world famous show. Pamela mainly mentioned dogs. Please name the kitties and other beloved animals who surely comprise your island family.

He is responsible for expanding Canada when it only comprised Ontario and Québec. Our province paved the way for the west, the majority of our country, to follow.
While striving to achieve this and also safeguard the rights of the Métis nation, Louis was sentenced for battles he did not cause. Students know this vaguely. Now that I have read the details, it is obvious Louis was killed to appease the small opposition. This 90 page history informed me sufficiently, without extended war or trial details. “The Riel Rebellion ~ 1885” by Frank Anderson & Robert K. Allan was apparently published for the centenary, in 1984.
Louis’ Lagimodière Grandparents settled this region, with First Nations people. Having no government was dangerous. Surveyors outlined Manitoba but homeowners witnessed them marking off their property for themselves! Louis reported them to Ottawa, asking to join the confederacy and to protect the land rights of Aboriginals.
Receiving no reply, Louis withheld nearby delegates. Notes on both ends promising to resolve everything peacefully, were undelivered. The opposition that came blasted canons. Louis’ side had to fight defensively.
Provincial status was granted. However, Prime Minister John A. MacDonald ordered Louis killed, pressured into using a 1300s British treason accusation; even though the court voted to free him!
A posthumous pardoned is still debated. In 2023, land rights are only beginning to be returned. Progress is slow but it is here!
Today, October 18, 2023: I turned on the TV and saw our newly elected premier, Wab Kinew, being sworn in. He is the first Aboriginal to lead Manitoba.... and any province! I am glad I witnessed this momentous, emotional, cultural ceremony. All the guest chiefs were women. That rocks too!...more

The tone aI only watch “The Voice” to see public figures like Miley Cyrus express their personal side. It does not matter that a coauthor guided her. The tone and contents are hers. Her reason for writing in 2009 was astute! She planted this marker upon her first success, while her home life was unchanged. She was mourning her Grandpa, like I am grieving my Mom and three beloved cats. She wrote “Miles To Go”, after living a year in Toronto.
I like her music and that she became vegetarian. It was compelling to watch a Tennessee country girl incrementally audition for “Hannah Montana” and land the opportunity to act and sing. She had practice in the public eye with her Dad but forged her own careers. A few years ago, I saw Elton John call her the most professional person he ever worked with. How quickly her dual careers took off, was only less impressive than her observations on valuing how she spends her time. She learned what could fit into an hour and wastes none. Best of all, her artistry is not for awards. She loves making people happy and connected through music and television and uses her platform to fundraise.
I am curious how Dolly Parton became her Godmother. A story she ought to have told is when she learned musical instruments. Does she play anything besides guitar? I relished witnessing the release of her television and first two personal music albums.
Now 30, Miley has innumerable major updates to document anew! It is amazing to know this book precedes most of the songs that became classics, like “Wrecking Ball”! Her parents and photographer would soon get flack for a seminude magazine portrait. It would make waves when she twerked with Robin Thicke and divorced Liam Hemsworth.
Uncannily, she knew Tony Bennett as a child, who recently ascended. I did not know Sinéad O’Connor warned her against sexualizing her image versus her talent in 2013, who I am sad to learn died this week, in July 2023. Miley’s storytelling was great and I give it four stars....more
