Welcome to my worst nightmare: Dolls. Cassey is a doll possessed and takes no prisoners. She ruins lives of every family she resides in. Cunning and conniving Cassey truly is a source of deep evil. No one is safe from her ultimate goal of wiping out human existence.

Okay I have read a bunch of horror books based on dolls. This is the absolute best out there. I loved the backstory and the history of Cassey. Recommend!

This was an interesting book. I didn't find it scary at all, though Cassey had creepy elements. What I did enjoy was how Cassey was present during important moments in history, such as the sinking of the Titanic and World War 2, and how the doll came to change over to a new little girl owner during each of these moments. I started to lose interest about halfway through though; I think for me, the story just lost its momentum and Cassey kept flitting through families, wrecking lives along the way, but I was hoping it would have been more scary and sinister, which wasn't the case. It was an ok read.

Casey is an evil doll possessed by the demonic spirit of Lilith who is tasked with ushering in “darkness” to the world. The book spans a 52 year period of time during which Cassey passes through the hands of multiple little girls and bring death and destruction into the lives of the girls, as well as their families. The book is entertaining, but perhaps covers too much ground and too many characters to create strong reader engagement and the level of suspense expected in the horror genre. There are other “possessed doll” stories that do a better job of investing readers in the story outcome.

First book by this author and I enjoyed it very much. Was a bit disappointed it didn’t scare me as much as I wanted it too, but I think with books you don’t get the “jump” factor like you would get with a movie. But I’d highly recommend and will look to read books by this author again 👍🏼

Very good and original story!

While I found this story creepy rather than scary, the Concept of The Darkness that's Coming is original and utterly horrific to consider!

In Cassey, I understand better my own sense of deep unease regarding dolls - what a nightmare she is!

Sorry not for me. Very weak plot, no surprises and characters that you couldn’t relate to. Finished it and thought “Is that it” ????

Didn't like it

Not what I thought it would be. Had to do with different wars and world issues. I skipped a lot to get thru it. I hate not finishing a book. Would not recommend.

I was expecting big things from the reviews. For me it didn't live up to the hype. Enjoyed the factual aspects but this ending was silly.
