After rumours, Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy Unpacked in-person event will happen in San Jose on January 17th, 2024. Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones are expected at the event.
The invite says, ‘Galaxy AI is coming’, hinting at the built-in AI features. ‘Experience the epic in everyday life like never before.’. To remind you, the S23 series were introduced on February 1st 2023, so this year it’s a couple of weeks early, a way before the MWC in February.
Based on rumors, the S24 Ultra will get a 6.8-inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen and an S Pen stylus matching the phone’s color. The main camera is said to be a 200MP sensor along with a familiar ultra-wide camera, and it is said to get a 10MP 3x zoom camera is still there. Completely new, however, the phone said to get a new 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, which replaces the 10MP, 10X camera.
Just like its predecessors, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to pack a 5000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging and wireless charging support. This time, the phone is said to get a titanium frame.
The S24 and S24+ are said expected to come in gray, black, yellow and violet colors, same as the Ultra. The phones are said to get an aluminium frame instead of titanium that is exclusive to the Ultra. The phones are said to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 SoC depending on the market.
These are said to pack a 6.2 / 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen. The phones should retain a 50 megapixel main camera, a 10MP telephoto camera (3x zoom), and 12MP ultra-wide and a 12MP front camera. The Galaxy S24 is said to get a 4000 mAh battery, while retaining the 25W fast charging, and the S24+ is said to pack a 4900mAh battery with 45W fast charging and wireless charging support.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 on January 17th starts at 10 a.m. PT (11:30 PM IST). As usual, Samsung offer live-streaming on samsung.com and YouTube. The company has started pre-reservations in the US that lets you get up to $100 discount on pre-orders.
