CHARMING GOLDFINCH, very colourful bird, and a favorite among many birders. Widespread and can be found in the region throughout the year, visits garden feeders, and a real joy to watch, they do squabble among themselves for the best position. Found Minster, Thanet Kent U.K.

TALL robust brownish plover with long yellow legs and prominent white forehead spot. Conspicuous red-based yellow hanging wattles at base of bill. Favours a variety of fresh and saline aquatic habitats, particularly mangrove fringes. I found them normally in pairs or a small group of about ten. this one seen in the Kotu area.

The lake is the destination after a hike lasting several hours, starting at Frasco in Valle Verzasca / Ticino.

Vestrahorn is one of the most photographed mountains on the Island. Located on the Stokksnes peninsula, its steep slopes reaching a flat lagoon, small black sand dunes and tall grasses create a natural wonder.

We visited this location twice, on two consecutive days. On this particular day, we stayed past sunset and into the evening.

"I watched the waves crash in, breaking on the shore

All their anger disposed on the oceans floor."

It was a serene evening, we took time to look around to enjoy the beauty of Nature.
