My photoblog- My Third Eye...!

An old photo taken with my old Nikon D90 and whilst I was still struggling with the various settings. Thought I'd give another go at editing the image.

This was only a tiny fraction of the Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) that were in the vicinity that day ... there were well over a hundred birds present. The group would have been a congregation of adults and young from that year's breeding season.

Photographed at Ulmurra, Northern NSW, Australia.

Nothing is more glorious than sunrise. This is of Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada. It was 35 degrees mid-august, but the shot is worth it.

One of many lakes in the Uinta Mountains, this one is at 9,500 feet (2.9KM).

Mt. Rundle is catching the last rays of the day with Sulphur Mountain to the right reflected in one of Vermillion Lakes.

Banff Township lies between the 2 mountains. Spectacular beauty abounds all around.

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

Lund is not a town known for its lakes. Because there aren't any really. And then they built this thing - so this is a completely artificial lake that did not exist ten years ago (when I moved to my current address, not that far from here). Someone did a great job creating this! And it is appreciated not only by people but also birds and frogs.

If you head from Podgorica toward the town of Bar you would pass the Skadar lake but also the town on three bridges – Virpazar. This once famous merchant town, today is a beloved place to take a coffee or lunch break while exploring the Skadar lake. It is also the opportunity to make a bout cruise around the lake.

As you start exploring the city one thing will catch your attention is the monument standing over the city on a hill. The monument is dedicated to the Fallen Fighters in the Second World War. It was in the town of Virpazar where on the 13th of July 1941 the Montenegrin partisan uprising started. It was the most energetic uprising in enslaved Europe in II World War. More than 30.000 fighters from all over Montenegro participated in it. Partizans achieved the liberation of most of the territory of Montenegro in just 12 days.

Lake Cawndilla is one of the nine lakes making up Menindi Lakes in south-western NSW. The shallow margins of the lakes are studded with dead black box trees. And I mean lots, thousands. It’s like an alien landscape and quite eerie to walk alone with no one else for many many miles, it’s a very isolated place. It was one of the most memorable places on my recent camping trip. Nothing like camping in a national park with a fire to fend off the cold and the stars above 😀

Hope everyone has been well., cheers.

Yes, another Cawndilla pic. It was pleading with me to let it come out and play.

Totally unrelated fun fact - there is a small town in Norway called Hell. I want to visit so when I return I can say I’ve been to Hell and back. And yes, I believe it does freeze over. You’re welcome 😀

Taken September 30, 2015. That date will always resonate with me as Moraine left me speechless that day.

Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake located in the eastern area of Banff National Park in Canada. For more than 100 centuries, people hunted and camped along the original shores of Lake Minnewanka. The Stoney people called it “Minn-waki” or “Lake of the Spirits”. They respected and feared this lake for its resident spirits. The Early Europeans called it Devil's Lake. Rocky Mountain ridges stretch can be seen while walking around the lake, the mountains eventually blurring into a blissful cascade of colours.
