This receding storm produced a tornado a mile from where I lived. The colors and layers were amazing, and no one photo can quite convey the grandeur. Colors ranged from icy turquoise to intense golds and pinks, and everything was swirling and counter-swirling.

I've been chasing clouds for the past week.

And they do oblige....they come to me in force.

I hope you like this more than the toilet signs.

How did I dare to put that picture on...........unthinkable!!!!

Wonderful cloud formations

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜

Not quite what I was attempting to capture the other evening when I set up my Nikon for time lapse of the Perseid Meteor Shower. I left the camera running before going to bed as the sky was clear with a forecast that looked good for the rest of the night. However, during the early hours of 14 August a lightning storm happened to blow through Stuttgart. I figured the photos of the meteor shower were for not, but while looking through the photos earlier this morning I came upon this one. Although obviously not of the Perseid Meteor Shower, I did happen to capture a nice cloud to cloud lightning strike. :-)

I'm still working on getting a good shot of the meteor shower and hoping that the sky clears up a little in the next few days.

Hope everyone on flickr has a great weekend and perhaps better luck capturing the meteor shower. :-)

On a hike in the Kleinwalsertal

Nothing fascinates me more than seeing unusual cloud formations.......I am always looking skyward wherever I go and in this instance it was great to get some foreground interest as well!

A walk along the banks of the River Humber a windy cloudy day but occasionally a little sunlight sneaked through the dark heavy sky . In the distance you can just see the Humber Bridge

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH.

Mammatus clouds are pouch-like protrusions hanging from the undersides of clouds, usually thunderstorm anvil clouds but other types of clouds as well. Composed primarily of ice, these cloud pouches can extend hundreds of miles in any direction, remaining visible in your sky for perhaps 10 or 15 minutes at a time. My 1st time ever. I was so excited to see - I ran in grabbed camera and starting shooting without checking settings. SO lucky I managed a shot or 2.

It looks to me like God just took a paint brush and painted these clouds!

Late in the sunset the colors exploded for a short time period.
