A Utah Railway "Martin Turn" expedites a train of coal empties, departing Provo Yard through Springville, Utah the afternoon of Oct. 10, 1976. I wish I'd had a tape recorder with me that day!
This will be my last image before I depart on an extended vacation. During that time I will likely post from time to time but I expect to be far less active than I typically am. I should be back to my regular posting style later in August or early in September.
I will leave you with this African elephant that I captured in the Masai Mara, Kenya last summer. It doesn't get much more African than this.

She had been waiting for him for a long time. She was used to waiting. She thought about her love. He was a kind and gentle man. He was handsome and strong.

Easter is here this Sunday. No Easter Car Show in Forest Park this year due to the COVID. I guess we'll have to let these old cars get 1 year older before we see them next year.

This is a mother cheetah in the Masai Mara, Kenya, who had just climbed on to a termite mound in look for prey for her growing cubs.
She was successful in the early evening and the family enjoyed dinner together. This mother was so successful that she was able to raise all three of her cubs into adulthood, a rare feet for a cheetah indeed.

Westbound loads roll past the C&O signals at Dawkins. To me its tough to fathom that you can still witness scenes like this in 2017. It will be sad when the remaining C&O signals finally fall in the name of progress but for now the Big Sandy puts on a big show and will have to do for the time being.
There were quite some trains underway towards Germany, so I moved on to Schoppem, a very popular location for eastbound trains before noon. 2 times Lineas, 2 times DB Cargo and 1 time Crossrail assured some variety before moving on to the next spot.
