The bridge over the road to the Church of the Ascension in Zvenigorod. Moscow region. Russia.

The temple has a rich and tragic history. Presumably from the 16th century, a wooden Ascension Church existed in Zvenigorod. In 1792, the stone Ascension Church was built, the bell tower was built later, in 1838.

In 1812 the church was ravaged by the French, but soon after the war it was renewed, thanks to the attention of the government.

And in 1922, the Ascension Church was devastated and closed. Until 1939 there was a grain harvesting center, and from 1939 to 1941 there was a garage for five buses and a truck. In May 1941 the church was completely dismantled.

On December 14, 2003, the Metropolitans made the foundation of a new church, which it was decided to build on its historic site.

The revival of the Ascension Church has become a symbol of the revival of ancient Zvenigorod and its spiritual transformation.

Un believable news this morning waking up and hearing this bridge has been struck and is no longer standing. We just went over this bridge on Sunday afternoon. Use it quite a lot.

Hopefully those that were on the bridge have not been killed. Prayers for them.

This will have major impact to Baltimore on many levels. Travel, shipping, etc ...

Sydney Harbour Bridge early morning

Built as a residential dwelling in 1480, Tu Hwnt i’r Bont (Beyond the Bridge) is actually considerably older than the Inigo Jones bridge it stands beside. Some years later the building was used as the Courthouse for the surrounding area. From here the most serious offenders could have been taken to Tan y Craig in Llanrwst where they could be hanged outside the old gaol!

Over the centuries Tu Hwnt i’r Bont has fallen into disrepair several times and been rebuilt and restored through the generosity of the townsfolk. During the last century, Tu Hwnt i’r Bont was acquired by the National Trust who have since leased the building for over 50 years.

I don't know how to describe the mood of this picture other than the word 'noir'.

I processed the original by Chris Combe from www.flickr.com/photos/cosmicherb70/15092861213/ to desaturate some of the blue colours leaving some sort of gunmetal grey/blue feel and that Batman Arkham city look to this picture. I've also played around with the saturation in the bridge added blur to the image and some selective dodging and burning to this photo.

Just another retake on an already awesome looking photo!

Old Bridge was built in 1566 r, at the request of the Turkish Sultan Suleiman. As a place of male competition, "Jumping Icarus" to the Neretva River, is a symbol of Mostar. Croatian hit missiles on 9 November 1993, fell into the river. In the summer of 2004, after reconstruction with international assistance, was inaugurated as the "New Old Bridge".
