Xiaomi is preparing to unveil the next generation MIX FOLD. Xiaomi’s foldable phones have caught the attention of many as they have almost the same thickness and weight as a typical smartphone. The last one, the MIX FOLD 3, was extremely popular and everyone is eagerly waiting for the next generation FOLD smartphone. The recent leaks we’ve acquired shed light on several specs of the upcoming MIX FOLD 4. Here’s all we know about MIX FOLD 4.
MIX FOLD 4 specs leak
Following the leak of the MIX Flip’s specs, now the specs of the MIX FOLD 4 are revealed. As the Android Headlines team, we will reveal all the details of the new MIX FOLD. This foldable model will show some similarities with the MIX Flip. Keep in mind that both devices will be worse than the 14 Ultra in terms of camera. Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the device with the best camera hardware among Xiaomi models. While the MIX FOLD 4 can’t be like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, it should take good photos.
We are spotting the Xiaomi MIX FOLD 4 in the database with the model number “24072PX77C“. And it should be noted that the new foldable device will only be available in the Chinese market. It is not expected to be officially sold in other markets. Aside from that, the MIX Flip will be launched in the Global and Chinese markets, except for India and Japan.
MIX FOLD 4 will have the codename “goku“. The internal model number is “N18“. MIX FOLD 3 had the model number “M18”. We are happy to announce that the new foldable model will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a high-performance processor. You can perform all your operations smoothly and play the games you want easily.
Xiaomi MIX FOLD 4 will have a quad camera system similar to the MIX FOLD 3. However, there are some changes in the sensors. Xiaomi is introducing the Ovx8000 sensor as the Light Hunter 800, the same sensor was previously used in the Redmi K70 Pro. The main camera has a resolution of 50 MP and a size of 1/1.55 inch. This sensor is also used in the MIX Flip.
As for the telephoto camera, we have the Omnivision OV60A with a resolution of 60 MP and a size of 1/2.8 inches. You can do 2x optical zoom with this telephoto camera. The interesting detail here is that while the MIX FOLD 3 came with a 3.2x telephoto camera, on the MIX FOLD 4 the optical zoom has been reduced to 2x.
The ultra-wide-angle camera is powered by the OV13B sensor with 13 MP resolution and a 1/3-inch sensor size. Previously used in devices such as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22, the S5K3K1 sensor will be available in the MIX FOLD 4. We know that this sensor has a resolution of 10 MP and a size of 1/3.94 inch. The foldable device will be capable of 5x optical zoom. In addition, there will be a 16MP OV16F selfie camera on the inner and cover screen.
Another thing we spotted about the MIX FOLD 4 is that the screen resolution will increase compared to the MIX FOLD 3. Xiaomi had used OLED panels with the same screen resolutions in the previous generation FOLD 3 and FOLD 2 models. When we analyze Mi Code, MIX FOLD 4 will differ at this point. The next-generation foldable model will have a higher screen resolution. Note that we are referring to the cover screen here.
The exact launch date has not yet been set, but the smartphone is expected to be unveiled at Xiaomi’s launch event in August. The disappointing news about the MIX FOLD 4 is that it will only be launched in China and will not be available in the global market. Importing from China is always an option, but we can safely say that the device will be China-exclusive.
