Let me start with the fact that I had to make a claim. Busted screen and sharp glass made it impossible to use. Asurion decided it was not cost effective to repair the phone so they would reimburse me the purchase price.
Sounds good right? Well, you have to first send in the busted phone, wait until they process your return and an additional 24-48 hrs before you get the money needed to purchase a new phone. So then you have to wait for the new phone to be shipped to you!
Plus, since I purchased the broken phone on Amazon, they are giving the reimbursement in the form of an Amazon gift card. So you will HAVE to purchase the next phone off of Amazon as well.
Also, it is supposed to be possible to enter your claim online. Would not work for me, do I had to call in to the tech support line and have one of their tech guys enter the claim for me.
I sent in the package and according to UPS it arrived 2 days ago. No update on my claim online however. Still just says "in progress".
I am having to work off an old phone until I can purchase the new one and I have to say that I do not understand why I should have to wait until they receive my broken phone in the first place!!! I understand they want to get the product back, but there are other ways to ensure that happens! Living without a phone is unacceptable!!!
The only positive things I can say about this plan is that they have agreed to pay my claim and the Asurion associate that did it was very nice and helped within his power. I have nothing but good things to say for him.
