Customer Review

Background:
My talalay mattress had become really uncomfortable. To the point that sleeping on the couch was better. So I decided to advantage of the July Fourth Mattress Sales and get a new mattress. After some YouTube reviews, I went to local mattress store that had some solid deals with the intention of only buying a Tempur-Pedic Breeze Hybrid.
After explaining my needs, issues and aches I ended up testing 6 different mattresses. The two mattresses I ended up deciding on was the Aireloom Cardiff Luxury Firm mattress & the Tempur Breeze, both roughly $4500. In the end I was convinced to not purchase the Tempur-Pedic Breeze Hybrid and go with the Aireloom Medium Firm for 50% off & an adjustable base. I'm a bigger guy and was told that this type would suit me better and having slept on a similar mattress at friend's house, it seemed like a good idea. So I took the deal.

I figured it would be a bit of an adjustment to go from a pure talalay/memory foam mattress to a hybrid mattress so I was expecting an adjustment period. After two weeks, I didn't have anymore neck issues or arm numbness and it was much easier to get out of the actual bed however I started to wake up with horrible hip pain which was a totally new thing. At this point, I'm stuck with the Aireloom mattress due to the deep discount I did not get 100 day trial. So I decided to look at into mattress toppers. This is how I ended up back at Tempur Pedic.

The Topper:
First off, I was nervous about this purchase due to the amount of toppers people received that arrived damaged or with torn covers etc. However 50% price drop I went ahead & took the risk. Thankfully when I unboxed it, mine had arrived in perfect condition.

The topper itself on this firm of a mattress is a perfect match. It amazingly provides the softness needed to reduce the hip issues and provided comfortable support that was not squishy in the least and restful sleeping experience. Contrary to what I assumed would happen, it did not completely flatten. The first night/morning after using the topper I literally didn’t get out of bed until noon, it was that comfortable.

The Issue:
The one thing with this topper that I can’t figure out how to remedy is slippage. My new base is an adjustable base so when I’ve adjusted to watch a movie, read a book or work using my ‘bed desk’ from home, the topper moves. It moves more way easily than I thought it could considering the fact that it’s underneath a very tight mattress protector and it is quite heavy. Dependent on which side of the bed in get on, it pulls that direction. The topper's cover base has ‘no slip traction' which is clearly not enough to keep the topper from sliding. It’s has become a pain to constantly have it sliding off the edge but the comfort outweighs that bit if of frustration. Looking for remedies and will update if I find one.

TLDR: Great topper but only at the reduced price. Wish I had just purchased the Tempur-Pedic Breeze Hybrid mattress and forgone the topper altogether. However, the topper has a created such a different feel with the Aireloom mattress that I have no idea if this combination just happened to be complimentary or if the Breeze Hybrid would actually be any better.
