Video Doorbell E340 can pair with your existing chime, eufy HomeBase S280, HomeBase S380, MiniBase Chime(T8023), Alexa and Google Voice Assistant.

Note: Not compatible with the original eufy Wi-Fi Chime(T8020),eufy Chime(T8740/T8742)or Apple Homekit.

2. Does Video Doorbell E340 support Apple HomeKit?

No. It supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, but it doesn't currently support HomeKit.

3. Will Video Doorbell E340 be compatible with the pre-record function? Will the existing chime still be used?

Yes. It is compatible with the pre-record function when it is constantly powered with 16-24V, 30VA transformer and this feature is expected to be available from early December, 2023. And an existing chime needs to be bypassed at the same time.

4. Does Video Doorbell E340 support 5 GHz Wi-Fi? Can I remove the battery when using Video Doorbell E340 in wired mode?

No, it only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. And the doorbell is powered by the battery and it is necessary to be installed, even while using it in wired mode.

5. How do I link Alexa and Video Doorbell E340?

1. Open the Alexa app side menu. Tap Browse.

2. Find and enable the “eufy Security” skill.

3. Enter your eufy account login details on the Link Account page.

4. Tap “Discover Devices” to see which security devices you can use with Alexa.

So far all good. However they sent the wrong back plate and it took many contacts with their tech staff to get the 10 cent item replaced. I had to uninstall it to send pictures twice as the first ones were not good enough for them to send a replacement. However they were very responsive in interacting with me; just hard headed as to quickly solving the problem. Sometimes continuing to ask for more proof is not cost efficient.

Clear picture day and night, picks up all motion within 15 feet of my door. I can clearly see faces and get clips of all activity. The downward facing camera is good too. Set up was pretty Easy. I have the Home Base 3 and it is plug and play create your Eufy account and add the Base. Update hardware (automatically) and add the porch camera. The mounting was hardest due to the existing hole in my wall was small. Had to stuff the wire nuts into the hole, then push the wire into the too. Records all activity and I turned off motion notifications, just need a doorbell for me. However, it does still record the motion. You can go back and review them if need be.

I was excited to see that Eufy even had a dual camera doorbell! I hemmed and hawed at the $179 price and decided to get a refurbished model. It was $60 cheaper which stung a little less. I had owned the T220(I think that's the model) for about 5 years and I was happy with that one. I like the idea of dual camera to keep track of packages that get delivered to the front door. It works great! The app lets you know that a package is there or if someone removes a package that was delivered. It babysits your package! All in all I'm super happy with this camera/doorbell.

I was doing a job and looking for alternatives to Ring for cameras for a customer. We ended up settling on Eufy. It was a terrible decision. The Doorbell alone is the single biggest disappointment. It never detects packages left on the door, doesn’t play any sound for notifications (unless you’re wearing a Bluetooth device, then it’s just a generic alert.) when someone rings the doorbell you get a silent notification on your phone screen saying “someone’s is at the door” with a timer letting you know how long it’s been since someone rang the bell. Unfortunately it’s pointless without some sort of audio notification.
