I had my Shark vacuum for several years, but it got ruined due to water damage. I purchased another Shark vacuum since I loved my old one so much, but it broke within a couple weeks. Thinking it was a fluke, I purchased another one and that ALSO broke within 2 months. I have four cats and foster kittens in a mostly carpeted home, so I NEED a vacuum.
I thought I'd try something different and opted for this one, and by golly it works! It's been about 6 months since eI bought this vacuum and I've had no problems. It's obviously bulkier than the traditional upright vacuums, but it didn't take much to look past that.
What I like:
-adjustable suction power
-the tools are useful
-since it's bagged, minimal dust escapes back into the air
-light for a canister vacuum
-it doesn't clog easily
-there are FOUR height settings for the brush rollers
What I don't like:
-the plastic panels keeping the tools in is flimsy
-this might just be me, but it's not the easiest to take apart and clean
-it does fine on hardwood. It's not amazing, but it picks up enough that I'm satisfied
It works, it keeps up with the gaggle of cats and all their shenanigans in my home, and it's great at trapping dust. Overall, it was definitely worth it.

Just as good as the old sears kenmore progressive
I was worried reading bad reviews. I must say i don't agree with them, for this particular model - purple. It's just as good as the original white kenmore that i still have and love it's design, it's even better. It includes all needed attachments, the crevice tube lacks holes (from the original design) which made it near useless, it includes a small but able passive brush, which i previously had to steal from somewhere else. The passive floor brush rotates much better.Attachments store inside (thank you!).On the down side (if at all) it's not the lightest, but ok for me. I shopped around (in physical stores), saw miele - felt cheap and overpriced and not designed the best, was sure it won't work for my application (see below). Kenmore model teal was flimsy indeed. Purple one is not. Quick attach system is strong and easy, so is the tube. I put my old kenmore through abuse, hopefully this one will also handle it.
My main application is rough tile and wood floors on my farm, where i have cats and lots of dirt from the outdoors. Also i clean cat fur from various pillows, couch etc.
