    I had to reorder a 2nd time because the first pitcher came in a small bag that was busting open on the top. The pitcher was both scratched AND cracked.The 2nd came in an OVERSIZED box with one piece of packing paper & the pitcher wasn’t in its already minimal package. Pitcher has 2 decent scratches, (one is over an inch the other was a circular scratch just smaller than the size of a dime).I decided to keep it because who knows what surprises would come with a 3rd attempt.The pitcher:Good size. Not too heavy for my weak wrists. I keep it on the counter for room temp water. It’s kept next to the sink for easy access refills.Set up was decent. After washing the pitcher before first use, the filter pops in super easy. You need a little time to fill & dump the pitcher 3 times before you can drink the water. I do it while tackling another task (cooking dinner, cleaning… so it doesn’t seem as tedious).I like that the Elite filter (blue filter) is stated to last 6 months. Here’s hoping. There’s a sensor that lights up to help you keep track of filter life, but I put the date on a piece of masking tape, craftily placed on the pitcher.     Filter replacement light never worked. Now I am unsure when to replace filters.
    EDIT: I just had a great email interface with Brita Customer Service. They are sending a replacement Pitcher due to the malfunction on mine.
    I am very happy with their Customer satisfaction focus.
    They also included tips for resetting the filter light, which I will include below.

    To begin troubleshooting, take a look at your pitcher to determine where the indicator is located.

    If the indicator is on the top of your pitcher’s lid:
    Press and hold down the STATUS button. Hold it there for 2 seconds if you’re using a white filter or 6 seconds if you have a blue filter.
    Release the button when the green light next to your filter icon flashes three times by itself.
    If the indicator is on the underside of your pitcher’s lid:
    Under the icon for your filter type, press and hold down the reset button for 5 seconds.
    Release the button when the light flashes three times.

    We recently purchased a new refrigerator that lacked a filtered water dispenser (our old fridge had one), so bought the Brita to have filtered water available. I did a fair amount of research into other brands and chose the Brita because the elite (blue) filter will supposedly last 6 months. The pitcher is easy to use and provides good-tasting water. My only complaint is that it is a little too tall to actually fit in the refrigerator, even after adjusting shelves, so it resides on the countertop.
