New to Amazon Kids

"Alexa, play Story Sauce."

ALNF's Story Sauce for Alexa is a fun way for kids aged 7-10 to practise their comprehension skills, grow their vocabulary and sharpen their focus.

Kids can listen to great Australian stories and collect the special Story Sauce, the magical flavour of each story.

"Alexa, open ABC Kids."

ABC Kids curates some of the best Aussie audio for little ears with on-demand content like podcasts, games, stories and more.

Presented by Play School favourites Matt Backer and Miah Madden, ABC Kids has something new every day with kids news, stories for afternoon naps, deliciously fun Story Salads and lullabies to help with bedtime.

Fun for kids, peace of mind for parents

Amazon Kids is a free experience for kids to explore, with ad-free content, voice shopping blocked by design and explicit lyric filtering for music switched on by default. Parents can also control the experience through an easy-to-use Parent Dashboard, where they can monitor activity, set time limits, add content, and more.

Amazon designs Alexa and Echo devices with multiple ways to manage privacy protection, from microphone controls to the ability to view and delete your voice recordings, so parents can feel in control. Learn more about Alexa privacy.

FAQs

Q. How are Alexa and Echo designed to protect my privacy?
A. Learn more about privacy settings, common questions, and more resources on our Alexa Privacy Page.

Q. Which devices support Amazon Kids?
A. Amazon Kids on Alexa is available on Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, and Echo Show.

Q. What is Amazon Kids?
A. Amazon Kids is a free suite of parental controls that gives parents the ability to create a personalised experience for their kids and choose what content they access on their device. For example, voice purchasing from Amazon is turned off and Alexa Communication, if enabled, is limited to only within the household or with contacts you select.

Q. What is Parental Consent?
A. Consistent with applicable privacy laws, we require permission from a parent before certain kid services can be used. You’ll be asked to give permission the first time you attempt to use kid services. If you revoke permission for a profile, we won’t be able to make certain kid services available for that profile. After you've given permission, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You can review or change permissions by visiting the Manage Parental Consent page on Amazon.com.au.

Q. How are my kids protected from explicit language in music?
A. The Amazon Kids on Alexa experience has the explicit language filter for music switched on by default. When switched on, this filter blocks songs that use common explicit words and phrases. The filters do not apply to album art, however. While no explicit filter is perfect, we are continually working to improve and refine our filter to block as many songs with explicit lyrics as possible.

Q. Can my kid use Alexa Communication while Amazon Kids on Alexa is enabled?
A. Yes, your child will be able to make calls and send messages within the household and with contacts you select for your child in the Alexa app. Your child will also be able to Drop In on household members and devices if you enable that feature on your Alexa account.

Q. What is Drop In?
A. Drop In is an optional feature that lets you connect instantly to support Alexa-enabled devices, like an intercom. Learn more about Communications.
