I bought this item as I didn't want to continue putting up with the wired connection.
I have a year old Hyundai Tucson that already has car play and a wireless phone charger but I just didn't want the clutter and the look of having a cable in the centre well.
It connected first time and within a second or so (no more than when I faff around and plug the cable into my phone), it boots up with the standard Apple Car Play view.
Everything works fine with the only slight lag (0.5 second longer I reckon) encountered when skipping to a new song using the steering wheel buttons.
I have noticed that when I choose the next song, this button now pauses the music and can't be restarted and I now have to push up instead of down now to get to the new song... I can't go back to the previous song using this device and have to revert using the touch screen.
Only other slight niggle is that when making phone calls, the sound quality is no way as clear as it used to be when it was a wired connection. I hear a hiss when people are talking and my friends also say that I sound like I have a very bad lisp when they hear me...
Maybe these can be sorted with future updates or it could be a Hyundai issue??
Everything else works absolutely fine and most importantly, music comes over crystal clear - I think this overall is a good purchase and I'm willing to put up with the slight niggles I've mentioned above...
