I've been in love with Kindles since they were first born. I've had Kindles for over 10 years and I read every day without fail. A few years ago, I decided to "upgrade" from my first Kindle to a paperwhite (when they were in their infancy), and whilst it was fine, did the job it was meant to do, I always felt it was in it's "experimental" stage, in my opinion it wasn't a patch on the original kindle for receptiveness and battery life. Anyway, to cut a long story short, it started playing up a few months back, screen locking, battery life was rubbish. With the original Kindle I could easily take it on a two week holiday and read every day and still have life in the battery at the end of the holiday, with the paperwhite, I had to charge every few days which was annoying as I didn't always think to charge it before bed. I decided enough was enough and went for an upgrade to Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition.

it is amazing! It's everything the original Kindle was but with a touch screen, it is responsive to the touch, battery life is great, it is a little bigger than other Kindles I've had but that isn't a detriment at all, the screen seems to be more 'book size' if that makes sense. I can read it without having a light on, the screen isn't glaringly bright, it is easy to hold etc.

From day 1 of having a Kindle I've never been without it, I read every single day, I panic if I get down to my last 3 books to read. But I was not in love with the first Kindle Paperwhite, with this one I am.

Unfortunately, I didn't wait for Amazon prime day as I couldn't risk my current Kindle at the time giving up the ghost and being without one, just a little point to note here, I did go for the trade-in offered which was £6, which in my mind told me that the original Paperwhite was not brilliant as it has been discontinued and they obviously knew it had problems to offer such a miserly trade-in price.

So if you are in the market for a new/replacement Kindle, I'd wait until Amazon Prime Day as I'm sure it will be on offer, but I would definitely get one.
