I leave this stand plugged in but turned off and use it as a stand for my Kindle Signature after I’ve finished reading at night. When my Kindle Signature needs charging I just turn the plug on at the mains and put it on the stand as usual overnight. Then in the morning my Kindle Signature is perfectly charged so I turn the stand back off at the plug. I see no need to leave it on all the time, it would be a waste of electricity. I think it would be better if the stand had a on/off switch on the side.
