I bought this to replace a bedside alarm clock. I liked the extra features of being able to play music or news through the built-in speaker using a Bluetooth connection from my phone. The package arrived quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the item. It feels well made and the buttons all made a healthy click when used.
Apart from the main unit, there is a mesh travel bag, a modern USB-C charger cable, and a 3.5mm cable to attach audio sources that don’t have Bluetooth.
Setting the time and the alarm was straightforward and you can change the alarm music by putting your own MP3 file on a micro-sd card and inserting it into the slot at the rear. The instruction leaflet was easy to follow. The time display is clearly legible by day or night and the lamp is switched on/off by finger taps on the top of the unit. There are options for the lamp to cycle through many colours etc. but I stuck with the warm white setting (there are three brightness levels available).
Using Bluetooth for connecting to my phone for music/news/podcasts was very simple to do (once again, the leaflet sets out the steps clearly). I was impressed by the sound quality of the top-firing speaker - definitely good enough for a bedside speaker.
You can run the unit from its own battery to use the device as a portable Bluetooth speaker or you can leave it plugged in via the USB-C charger cable (which is what I will do). Apart from the USB-C charging socket and the micro-sd card slot (for your own alarm mp3 and other music files), there is a standard-sized USB connector to plug a pendrive in - once again to add your own mp3 music. As the unit has Bluetooth, I do not think I will be using the micro-sd our USB pendrive options much.
I have attached a few photos and a short video for you to hear the unit playing music over Bluetooth from my phone. I am impressed by what I have seen so far and I feel that this multi-function unit is good value for money.
