I upgraded to this after using my Kindle Keyboard for the last 14 years, so I may be too easily impressed by this. But honestly, it's stunning! The text quality is pixel perfect, the lighting options are very customisable, it's light and thin despite having a nice big screen, and the loading times are vastly better.What I love most is how well it handles manga. Unlike comic books and magazines, manga is predominantly black and white so it suits e-ink screens perfectly. Plus I got 3 months of Kindle Unlimited free when buying this and there's a great selection of manga to read on there.One tiny downside is that you can't customise thumbnails for any documents you upload yourself. But that really is a minor nitpick. Otherwise, I'm over the moon with this!

My previous Kindle was around 3rd generation (I think). It expired after a good few years' usage (so I've no complaints) and I bought this 11th generation paperwhite. I already thought eBook readers were amazing, having a display which uses almost no power and causes no more eye strain than regular ink. But this 11th generation Kindle has ironed out the minor irritations / weaknesses of earlier Kindles. Touchscreen means you have one less point of failure that was the page turn buttons. If you're worried about turning pages by mistake, you can set the display to only respond to a swiping motion. The backlight is excellent and the colour temperature adjustment probably reduces blue wavelengths which can disrupt sleep. However, it's a shame the sensor to automatically switch the light off/on is restricted to the more expensive signature version. In these days of smartphones and tablet PCs, such technology seems fairly rudimentary. It's no great hardship swiping down to the menu and switching off the light. But in daylight, I've sometimes forgotten this and it is probably by far the biggest drain on the battery.

Build quality is every bit as good as my original Kindle. Sometimes, so-called progress means thinner/cheaper materials. But the 11th generation Kindle is solid and feels good in the hand. I like that it has a degree of water resistance as I'm likely to read outdoors over the summer and being the UK....

Menus are intuitive and have not been overcomplicated with unnecessary options. The 16gb memory is more than enough. I only have a few books, at most, downloaded at any one time.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this Kindle and I've no regrets buying it.
