To save and share clips, choose from an optional Blink Subscription plan (sold separately) for cloud storage, or store locally a Blink Sync Module 2 and USB flash drive (each sold separately).

Video Doorbell is weather resistant with a seal that protects against water. We recommend mounting it to your home with the included back plate by following these instructions.

Batteries are required for Video Doorbell to function even when hard-wired. To install Blink Video Doorbell so it chimes through your existing doorbell wiring, 16 - 24 VCA is required.

Good for the money, flexible and reliable
These little cameras are great for day time but absolutely appalling for night - ie the exact time you need a SECURITY CAMERA to work. I suspect there is a reason there is no picture taken at night in the product blurb from Amazon!See my two images for the identical view from the back of my house at day and night. And this is after an hour or more of troubleshooting the camera for best night time viewing, and with a straight 4 bar signal on the WiFi and from the sync module, and moving the camera to be 100% sure there are no reflections from nearby surfaces to reflect the infra red light from the camera. These are going back and I’ll just keep the indoor cameras which work pretty well.EDIT - review updated following an intervention from Amanda at Blink! It seems that as careful as I thought I had been in eliminating reflections, it was not enough. A tiny corner of my window sill was in the bottom corner of the image and this was enough to reflect the infra red back in to the lens and produce the image above (below?).So now I have an unfettered view from the camera, mounted carefully below the window sill and it is still great during the day, and much improved at night - not great, but for a battery powered tiny camera, it’s not bad.

My Blink set-up includes three outdoor cameras and a doorbell, across two sync modules that are on the same wifi network. I needed two sync modules, because thecameras at the back of the house were slightly out if range to the sync for the doorbell. Using the two gives me full coverage of my inside and outside space. It's my first smart doorbell and cameras, so I wasn't sure ehqt to expect, but these have been brilliant over the last month or so. I stopped the cloud storage option and use a USB in each sync module. The difference to me is loading recordings takes a few seconds longer, there's thumbnail view of the clip, clips need to be deleted one by one, and you can't manually record something in live view. So there are some. Small compromises when using the USB storage. I ammjust letting the clips build up and once the USBs are full, will plug them in the laptop, wipe them and reuse them. You can still download and share clips from the App whe. Using the USB, so you can make a quick copy of anything important.

Set up is literally unbox, insert batteries, plug in sync modul, download App and follow instructions. Each device has its own QR code that makes it was to connect to.

The work great with my fire sticks, so I can answer the door bell from any TV in the house, or I can also check the cameras too.

They also worm great woth Alexa, and i can give arm/disarm commands quickly so I don't getting setting the motion detection off when at home.

On motion detection, being able to set areas not to detect, and set the sensitivity is also brilliant. The motion detection is not PIR based like a classic motion detector might be, it's done by assessing changes in pixels, so occasional 'false' recording is unavoidable, but you can more or less prevent but getting the settings right.

Using the Alexa app, I've been able to set some routines that turn on my hue lights in certain parts of the garden/porch/drive etc. when the cameras detect motion. There's a few seconds delay, but it's more than acceptable and is a nice touch when getting home late or for security purposes. It also avoided me buying hue outdoor sensors at £45 a pop!

Overall, this is a brilliant system. It's user friendly, has decent connectivity and features without a monthly fee (if USB used) and I love it!

It's good, very good. Easy to install and setup. No cables and wires.
I've put a 8gb memory stick in mine and can reject it and watch
videos on the main PC.
Very concerned about the time-lapse though. Was expecting a package from
Amazon on Tuesday 27 October 2020, heard a van door go and it was within
my delivery slots. Switched the camera on and observed the man getting out his
van. Suddenly there was a knock on the door? I was still watching him walk
to my front door time-lapse was more than 10 seconds. A notification then was
made on my iPhone?

Amazon really need to get this sorted, not good enough. In this day and
age it renders the 'talk to' useless? By time, you've connected to the phone
and got the camera on (15 seconds after the event) they've gone... so what's
the point??

I've marked it down to 3 stars because of this. My rear garden camera has a time
lapse of around a second which beats this hands down.

If Amazon can get the time delay sorted it will be a fantastic bit of kit
but at the moment perhaps other cameras would be better?

UPDATE: 8th December 2020.
I obtained another camera about 2 weeks ago and placed this at the rear of the house. Having 2 cameras
improved performance greatly. A quick change in settings to activating 'early' motion and time was down to almost 6 seconds from notification to seeing who was at the door.

Really pleased now, an extra camera does help! Thoroughly recommend this product and get 2 cameras if you can!
