Bring your FrEnglish dictionaries with you when you buy this, as it is provided by a Parisian company all of the texts and alerts you receive are in French. I used this for a trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland and my data worked perfectly throughout, without ever having to register or provide my information. This had more data then I knew what to do with, and it is much better then any of the deals you will get in the airport or locally. (depending on where you go, of course!)
I was on a trip with 29 other people and I was one of the only ones who had purchased a specific travel sim, and they all ended up wishing they had done what I had as their companies charged them a lot for roaming or the local shops sold less data for more money. It was also comforting to touch down in Dublin Airport with service on the plane to help navigate my way to my hotel.
Note that while you're tethering, you may not be able to use your data on your phone. This wasn't every time I tethered, but I noticed that more often then not when I put on my hotspot for other people or my laptop, I wasn't able to use my data on my phone.
