The Thule case is really protective, I bought it specifically for a flight from Canada to the UK and it did the job well.
Downsides- it’s quite heavy...with a 30kg limit for airlines, I had to empty some cycling related items out of the case before Air Canada would take it.
It’s big. I had to get an Uber XL to the airport for $85 because it wouldn’t fit in any of my friends’ cars. I had the same problem at the other end, luckily I had a friend in the UK who came through for me.
Probably my fault for not checking first, but it won’t fit in my car, meaning whenever I look to use it I’m either renting or taxiing.
