I made the mistake of waiting until I arrived in the US to connect, I had already left the airport so I had to find wifi to set up my account.
You can save yourself the hassle and do this at the airport prior to you leaving, you can even do it at home and set a specific date that it will become activated!
It was extremely easy to use, I had no connection issues! It is the most cost effective way to use your phone while out of the country.
I don't mind that I had a different phone number, it wasn't an issue for me, but if you need to be contacted on your own # this won't work.
one bonus is you can sign up for many freebies from stores with a new phone number and it allows access to things you need a US phone number for :)
