The mounting pad support MagSafe, which using magnetic force to hold the phone in place. The charging pad also has wire inside it that it can automatically charge your phone as long as it supports wireless charging standard.
This car mount requires your phone to support both magnetic and wireless charging. A lot of today’s phones support wireless charging, include iPhone 8 and newer, and android phones. For magnetic, iPhone 12 and newer support that. If your phone doesn’t support magnetic, the included metal ring can do the conversion. You need to stick the metal ring to back of your phone, or back of your phone case.
It is interesting that the car mount comes with two mounting bases. One is the most commonly seen air vent mounting base. The other one is a mounting base that can be mounted to either flat or curved surface. It has a sliding arm to adjust the direction to your preference. The package comes with two extra stick pads that as replacement in case you need to relocate the sticky mounting base.
The package comes with USB charging cable but doesn’t include a cigarette USB adapter. If you don’t already have one you need to get one for yourself otherwise cannot do wireless charging.
Overall, very good product, makes driving much easier. Highly recommend.
