I've been even a beta tester for this product.
The product was great, integration with 3rd party apps, a great browser to interact with other applications it currently wasn't supporting by that time.
Amazon forced the FireTv integration to try to mix/replace functionalities in the Echo show. Since this update some things ocurred:
1 - Almost all FireTv apps also works on Echo show.
2 - echo shows now thinks 100% it is a FireTv. Meaning it requires a remote control, meaning that either you use on screen digital emulated remote or buy a remote. You didn't need a remote before, but now you can buy it in a super discounted price because you own a Echo show, nice huh?
3 - when you want to search for content in the apps, the keyboard won't come up as a touchscreen keyboard, you have to use the awesome arrows in the screen remote control, so to type Z instead od a click you have to do 15 on screen.
4 - Echo show by itself has integration with music player like Spotify, Amazon music, etc. But guess what, it now thinks it is a FireTv. When you want to play music, it almost doesnt know what to do, por which app to use.
5 - Oww, but I cast to FireTv, and now you can cast to Echo show as well. But guess what?, it doesn't know if it is an Alexa or FireTv,menaing that sometimes it won't show up as a speaker in your music apps, and sometimes it also won't show up as a air cast device 100% of the times.
6 - I prefer to open YouTube using the browser I stead of the app for obvious reasons to use the keyboard to search instead of tons of arrows using the remote.

Amazon broke it with the FireTv integration, when I asked why, the reason wasn't clear at all.
Don't buy it, you will have more stress then solutions on the long run. I've had this device for 2 years now counting the beta, and the FireTv just broke it.
