Feels really good in the hand, lightweight, smooth action with no noticeable input delay, easy button presses, nice texture. The buttons, bumpers and analog presses sound quite good, triggers are nice and quiet. Pretty thocky for a controller, if you know what I mean (mechanical keyboard people use this term to describe a nice deep sound on a keypress, vs a higher pitched or pingy sound). Back buttons are placed nicely. Overall customizability is nice and the software is easy to use, it's pretty intuitive. Had no problems with bluetooth connection. I returned it because compared to the Dualshock 4, I felt like the design was a little bit wide for my hand, and I could live without the back buttons, since the touchpad felt like a more useful feature for my purposes overall. I'd get it as a second controller though, if I needed one.

Works out of the box on my Macbook Air M1 (Monterey 12.3.1) and Steam even when hooked up via provided cable.

I haven't tried the Bluetooth connection yet because I wanted to fully charge the controllers first but I'm not worried much about the wireless connection.

UPDATE:
Connection over bluetooth works flawlessly too. You only need to pair it once and it auto pairs the next time.

The first game I tried was a multiplayer Steam game (on Steam beta and not in big screen mode) and both controllers (I bought 2) worked out of the box via the provided USB cable. If you encounter any controller issues, try the Steam Big Screen mode.

The controllers feel very solid and the buttons feel like DualShock buttons. Even the shoulder buttons feel nice, unlike the cheap controllers. They feel comfortable holding too because of their shape.

Another thing I like about these controllers is they work on other platforms as well. Windows, Switch, Android, Raspberry Pie... I hope they work on iOS too. I will try maybe later.

Overall, I think you get what you pay for. They are a bit cheaper than Sony DS controllers but certainly not cheap so you will feel and see the build quality is on par with official SONY controllers.

Awesome job 8Bitdo! Don't ever rush/sacrifice the quality of your controllers for the sake of a lower price and quantity.

This is probably the best third party controller you can buy for the Switch.

Compatibility:
I tested this on my Switch, on Windows, and on Android (I tested it quickly). Worked great. At one point it stopped syncing with the Switch even though I was in S mode, so I waited a day or two and then had to resync it. That was concerning. I'm guessing it had an issue with thinking it was still synced to Android since I tested that right before in D mode. I tested Windows in S mode, which worked, and then in X mode, which is the correct mode and it recognized it and worked as well as an Xbox controller.

Material:
The quality of materials is medium-high I'd say, but it's too slippery, leading to discomfort. It's not as high quality as the Switch Pro Controller and it doesn't grip as well.

Shape:
It has a good shape but, like with the PS5 controller, I realized I am not a fan of the position of the left stick. I know many are. It does help with the D-Pad though, which feels pretty good and is nice and clicky. The shape has a bit of a bulge on the sides, just like the PS5 controller and that doesn't have help with comfort, sadly. Needs to be a bit thinner.

The biggest issue is that the controller is somewhat slanted forward/downward away from you rather than upwards and towards you (like the Wii Classic Controller Pro, which has a similar shape, is towards you, and the sticks are more separate leading to more comfort and is actually usable for hours of gaming).
The 8BitDo Pro 2 causes your wrists and hands to not rest too comfortably and to be tilted. After 15 minutes or so, it starts to strain.

The shape, from the back where your fingers rest, curves a bit too much compared to the Pro Controller (where they rent in a more straight manner). That doesn't help with long term comfort.

Sticks:
The sticks themselves are great but not very grippy (material is slippery but soft to the touch). Clicking the sticks works well and aren't too loud (slightly quieter than the Pro Controller).

Triggers:
Triggers are okay but they need deeper curves so that our fingers rest there and moves them better, and the material used could be better and more grippy, but that's okay as they work well. Not as good as the PS5 and Xbox controllers' triggers. They work fine on Windows in Forza Horizon 4.

Buttons:
Buttons are clicky, a bit loud, but not as loud as the Xbox One controller, yet they feel great.
Start/Select buttons have a lot of grip and the material gathers dust/lint but they're soft and click immediately. They should have been more separate in order to reach them easier (too far as is - not a huge deal though but you do end up touching the sticks and many controllers have that issue).
D-Pad is great as mentioned above but if you want to press all buttons quickly by "rotating" your thumb, as some games require that, it gets noisy and feels.. hmm.. interesting, not sure if that's good or bad or if it would eventually break or come out of its place, in a way.

Extra buttons:
Home and Screenshot/Record buttons are fine, good location (wish the Pro Controller had them separate like that). They could have them pop out a bit more for easier pressing. They're fine though.

Vibration:
I really like the vibration on this, feels very high quality and doesn't do a lot of noise. It's even nicer than the PS5 controller's vibration. Similar to the Xbox One controller.

Motion controls / Gyro:
Motion controls work great on the Switch. Someone mentioned that they were worse but I did not notice that at all. They worked as well as the Pro Controller's.

Conclusion:
Overall, they need to improve the shape a bit as mentioned above, make it more grippy, separate the sticks a bit for easier reach, reduce the price by 20 CAD without compromising on quality, and it'll be an amazing controller. It is still quite great for now and is definitely worth it (not at full price). If they want to keep it at the same price then the materials used have to improve.

The PS5 controller is superior with quieter buttons and sticks, grips better, but doesn't work well on Windows and the Switch (unless you use the USB adapter but even then, I got issues with it and had to return both the USB and PS5 controller). Shapes are similar and this one might be a bit thinner, which is better. This one works well everywhere it is advertised to work well.

This is not my first controller from 8BitDo and as with all controllers from 8BitDo, the setup is always a bit complicated and the whole "Did I do the right thing?" Phase, yet it is far less complicated than what I remember thanks to the switch behind the controller. Big improvement on this version!

So far, the first thing I can say when I took it in my hands the first time and after is that this controller is made for hours of gameplay and it shows. It is heavy, sturdy and comfortable to hold and play with. The buttons have the right amount of feedback. I have nothing to say but good things about the whole gaming experience. I wouldn't say I found it as comfortable as an XBOX one controller, but it's darn close!

My only minor irritation is the cable length that comes with it. I use it wired for PC gaming and my PC tower is on the floor, so the mere 3 feet cable isn't usable in that case. Fortunately, I had a 12 feets braided USB-C at hand and now my only complaint is the lack of time spent gaming with this controller ;). Would definitively recommend!

O controle é 100% original, funcionou em todas as plataformas que testei: emulador snes9x e zsnes, dolphin (tanto no celular como no pc), emulador de ps2 (para celular e o pc), além de outros jogos para pc e celular, retroarch e afins. Minha única crítica é a respeito da demora para entrega. O produto ter demorado para chegar é devido a compra ser internacional. Provavelmente é possível achar o mesmo controle com um preço semelhante (talvez 10 reais mais caro) na loja da 8BitDo no AliExpress (mesmo com a compra sendo internacional), porém a demora com certeza será menor que a demora que eu tive nessa compra. Demorou cerca de 45 dias para chegar em minha casa. Do mais, ótimo produto.

He tenido varios controles de 8bitdo como son el Zero 2 o Pro+ y hasta ahora, puedo decir que la marca es fiable (si esa era la preocupación), en cuanto a estética, fué el complemento perfecto a mi Switch con carcasa Custom de SNES.

Respecto a las funciones y su uso, este en especial, el Pro 2, cada vez me ha hecho más feliz.

NINTENDO SWITCH: de entrada con la consola para la que fue hecho, me ha acompañado bastante bien en la hora de comida en la oficina en juegos como los Mega Man que pueden ser de uso rudo, o cuando todos juegan y faltan controles, en Super Smash Bros, responde bien, se siente muy comodo y cuenta con giroscopio para Gyro Aiming, pero no cuenta con NFC y no puede activar el Switch con el botón de Home.

PC / STEAM: la razón por la que compré este control fue para jugar Final Fantasy XIV, pues los controles de Microsoft de Xbox son caros y frágiles, el 8bitdo Pro 2 no me ha fallado, los pads de abajo que pueden ser mapeados por App a los botones que quieras y me han servido de mucho a lo largo de todo End Walker, incluido el contenido mas difícil, de la misma forma lo he utilizado en varios juegos de Steam sin problemas.

ANDROID: una vez que conseguí la base para celular, a veces coloco el teléfono solo tenerlo cómodamente a la mano con Discord (Final Fantasy XIV) o lo he utilizado para jugar ports como Dead Cells o SaGa Frontier, bastante útil, y al ser ajustable, puedes jugar acostado sin doblar mucho la cabeza.

MANTENIMIENTO: desafortunada mente, si he tirado este control y si sufrió daños, sin embargo solo fue que la membrana del Shoulder Buton "R" se rasgó y se sentía suave o se atoraba, sin embargo en una grata y feliz sorpresa, resulta que los fabricantes, 8bitdo, manejan una tienda OFICIAL en Aliexpress por la cuál pude conseguir la membrana directamente de ellos para cambiarla, la única queja al respecto es que tarda mucho y seria preferente que su tienda igual vendiera esas cosas por Amazon, pero sabiendo esto, puedo decir que no me preocupa que alguna de las piezas falle.

Si no cuentan con la habilidad para cambiar estas piezas por su cuenta, puedo decir que abrirlo y manipularlo no fue tan difícil, por lo que su técnico se confianza de seguro lograra hacerlo de forma rapida, con la precaución de que lleva un cable de listón uniendo las placas superior e inferior del control y que se puede jalar por accidente al abrirlo (aun que tiene un largo muy comodo), fuera de eso, no tiene resortes o piezas sueltas de inmediato que se puedan perder al abrirlo.

100% recomendable, muy agradable a la vista, funcional y cómodo.

Prácticamente todo en este mando es bueno. Quizás imperdonable para algunos sería la latencia, que es realmente muy muy bajita (yo he medido aproximadamente 90hz en bluetooth, pero sé que tampoco llega a 125hz conectado por cable). Para la mayoría de los títulos esto no es grave, ya que no hay muchas actividades en videojuegos que necesiten de actualizaciones a cada 0.01s. Juegos de lucha continúan capados a 60fps (por lo tanto todo lo que tenga por lo menos una latencia de 16ms es aceptable, pero si la latencia es mejor, preferible... aunque hay tanto campeón en torneos con mandos bluetooth jugando de manera inalámbrica los cuales tienen jittering de más de 50~90ms ocasionalmente, que no sé hasta que punto esto es relevante). Cuando no son juegos de lucha, son FPS y ahí la latencia importaría para el Analog Stick que saca provecho de actualizaciones constantes. El tema es que todos los FPS terminan teniendo implementaciones son smoothing de updates (y aim assist) que hace con que mismo que se pierda información, la diferencia entre 0.01 y 0.1ms no es grave. Son raras las circunstancias donde se nota la diferencia, y todas las personas que escucháis por la web diciendo que lo notan, no tienen ni idea de que hablan. Es placebo. Delays se notan en la orden de los 1f a 2f en juegos a 60fps, pero si el valor en ms es inferior a eso, es bastante complicado notarlo y explicar exactamente porqué en esta reseña no tiene sentido. Va mucho más allá que ejemplos específicos académicos porque la forma como se analizaría la percepción de sería en un blind-test y con ejemplos reales (pragmáticos) y no ejemplos super específicos sabiendo la gente que está usando en aquél momento (donde el efecto placebo entra en causa).

Hasta aquí, no habrían problemas con este mando. Es realmente fenomenal en ergonomia, feeling de los botones y sticks, y su peso (que podría ser más ligero pero la batería le sube).

Donde está la gravedad? El d-pad.
El d-pad de este mando sufre de los mismos problemas que otros mandos que sigan el mismo formato lanzados por 8bitdo (Pro 2, SN30).
Los problemas son la sensibilidad de las diagonales (esta parte es subjectiva, ya que hay gente que lo prefiere así), pero aún peor... el hecho de que el molde del d-pad frota con el recorte del mismo en la carcasa del mando. Esto pasa porque el molde se mueve bastante dentro del mando. Es normal que haya alguna holgura y que se puedan mover (aunque estén asientes en la silicona que hace contacto con la película de motherboard), pero en el caso de los mandos de 8bitdo, tienen de tal forma holgura, que terminan excediendose con frecuencia, a punto de quedar demasiado posicionados en una dada dirección. No solo eso como ocasionalmente el propio molde del d-pad tiene un exceso de plástico en una de las direcciones. Cuando eso pasa, esa dirección hace más ruido, se siente rara, y ocasionalmente queda presa a la carcasa.

Hay muchas soluciones presentadas por los compradores del mando. Sea poner cinta adhesiva en los contactos, sea recortar anillos de papel para pegarlos ahí, sea lijar el plástico de la carcasa para que no frote... Pero todas las soluciones son invasivas en un mando que ya ha tenido bastantes iteraciones por parte de 8bitdo sin que se hayan dado al trabajo de arreglarlo. Sin contar que es un mando relativamente frágil para abrir (comparado con un mando genérico como dualshock 4, por ejemplo).

Mucha gente a reclamado a 8bitdo este problema y la compañía gentilmente les pide que hagan un recambio. Infelizmente los recambios sufren todos del mismo problema porque no es un defecto de un mando en diez. Es un defecto de todos ellos por la forma como está pensado la construcción interior del mando.

Si el d-pad no te importa (porque no juegas a ningún juego retro, porque no lo usas en fighting games, etc), aún así puede afectarte. Yo literalmente sólo teniendo que usarlo en un FPS o 3rd Person (como un Soulslike), al tener que cambiar algo del inventario con el D-Pad, sentía que se quedaba preso el botón. El tacto raro te distrae.

Una pena, al final, porque por todo lo demás es sin duda el mejor mando que he utilizado hasta hoy (ya habiendo adquirido docenas de ellos a lo largo de los años de diferentes marcas).
De notar que ergonomia y tacto son siempre temas subjetivos, y tampoco tengo idea de la durabilidad a largo plazo del mando (solo podría esperar que me durara por lo menos 3 años antes de que los botones empezasen a dar problemas).
